I was about to sell my AH-D7000 for a pair of ATH-W1000X.  I wanted something that was more lively but with bass for rock, pop and hip hop.
But in headphonia's review of the ATH-W1000X, it says that they are recommended for jazz and acoustic and not good with rock, pop and hip hop.

Should I keep the Denons?

The W1000x is more fun than the D7000 and better suited for pop/rock than jazz/classical in my opinion.  I sold my D7000 because ultimately it felt like an expensive, prettied-up D2000 and my LCD-2s are better in all areas but comfort.  I kept my W1000x since it has personality and also isolates a bit better than the D7000 for work...

Thanks.  Your impressions help.  Being a grado lover, I was looking for a more fun closed headphone for bass than the D7000.  Hope it will fit the bill.
