Could someone advise me about the performance of this new player SR15 paired with the standard 600 ohm T1 please? What can be expected? Can it drive the T1 sufficiently? Is it worth the SR15 investment assuming this can? THX.

The es100 is smooth and warm sounding compared to my other players and V30. It's not bad for what it is, and you can't beat the portability and feature set. I'm keeping my es100 no matter what, but of course the SR15 bests it. Without a doubt.Came to my senses it does sound better than es100 and it’s the perfect size

The ESS with my iems sounds really hot and detailed. The SR15 sounds smoother to me. Do you use the balanced? In fact I had to dial the treble back on it.
SR15 soundstage is narrower, but deeper and more 3D. In all honesty the ess sounds more exciting to me. I think I’m going to have to go for futura or 1000m.
I’m sure if I had harder to drive cans it would be different, just can’t handle having 2 sound so close.
Also weird how 2 people hear something so different

Just got this in. Was pretty much sold in the shop after 5 songs back and forth with my KAI MOD AK70. Spatially on another level all together. Mids are lovely indeed. Loving the app functionality as well. So far a very very solid impression!
Anyone tried FW1.14 yet? The battery life seems to improve a little....Around 9-10hrs playing time in balanced mode, playing 16bit 44.1khz flac files

Hi Jason.
Is there any firmware update whereby can fix issue having handshake compatibility with dac that are non xmos receivers.
I have no problem with dacs that are xmos base and fgpa like chord products.
Thanks

Absolutely loving this thing. So much more mature as a platform than the AK70.
Almost flawless UI with only the occasional stutter, but even high end Android phones are not immune to that.
The inclusion of Spotify and Tidal just elevates this thing to a whole other level. For casual listening on the go, Spotify is my go to so this is awesome. I connect the AK to my phone's hotspot and I can control it over Spotify Connect which makes hassle juggling multiple devices on the go much less. Similarly, AK Connect seems much faster in response times than before.
I don't have so much experience with DAPs, but it's much better than the AK70 or MKII, no comparison.
Key sound quality strengths (I only use SE):

Key sound quality strengths (I only use SE):
- low frequency extension... this one goes as deep as it can , but very controlled bass.
- non fatiguing / non digital sounding high mid/low treble. As my wife said: voices sound real now (compared to AK70). The PP8 can be a little hot in this critical frequency region for fatigue and the SR15 somehow makes it much smoother to listen to over long periods. May have something to with higher output impedance, will have to measure that.
- Wide and deep soundstage. Definitely much better in that respect than the quite narrow sounding AK70.

I really like this little gem and use it a lot. Waiting for Roon to arrive (I find the SR15 sometimes a bit of a hassle to deal with, especially with its cover on) and will be all set. I find one thing really annoying: this Back button (Android?) at the bottom right of the user interface. Especially when using Qobuz, because there is where the search function is and the back button and search button overlap.
Can I get rid of the Back button or is there some other way to access the Qobuz search button?
Tx in advance,
Jeroen
