Trying to understand how this player works in Balanced VS SE.

In Balanced mode it would use both DAC's and Amps. In SE mode does it use Both DACs and One Amp, One DAC and One Amp, or the same both DACs and Amps?

I wonder why we the consumers in the USA don’t have this kind of special units? That is not fair for us.

I'm not sure what the criteria is that our HQ uses. Right now, the US/Canada exclusive AK player is the Onyx Black SP1000M. That is only in North America and not other countries.

The color doesn’t matter, though I like blue more. The internal memory of 64 Gb is “neither fish nor fowl” for me, but 128 Gb is pretty enough for me to not use the sd card at all.

Does anyone know if the SR15 will drive a set of Sennheiser HD650 from the balanced output, so would it be worth the cost of having a custom cable made with a 2.5mm plug, or would I need a Amp?
If so can anyone recommend one?

What I meant “not fair” is the distribution of the special products shall be the same for everywhere unless they are limited and the manufacturers should let the consumers know in advance.

I see. You original statement didn't read that way at all to me, sounded more like you thought "USA consumers" should be favoured.

If a Korean company wants to release a special edition of one of its products in Korea, I can't see any reason to complain myself.

I had to order my SR15 from the UK, and my AKG N5005s from the US. Just glad I get the chance to do that....

Ironically even though A&K products are from Korea the manufacturing iRiver is located in the city of Irvine (if I am not wrong!) of California USA which is 30 minutes closer to my house.

I have just tested the balance output with the same cable and they sound signature is exactly the same.

I dont think the balance has any effect on the sound signature.

I have also tested the balance with various other cables and it sounded different.

This all said, I'm a little weary of holding on to the Norma because my return window is closing and playlists are broken for me and a core piece of what I do. Im not sure whether this will be a simple fix or even how quickly AK turns around issues like this.

And pointers welcome.
