Hello dear folks, this is my first post here, so thanks for having me to everyone .

I own the Sr15 for 8 Weeks now and I simply love that DAP. I am coming from the Fiio X5 III and mostly changed to A&K due to the X5´s badly screwed up actual software.
Some people are worried about the SR15´s power, my experience till now is, yes .... the FiiO X5 III hast a LOT of more power and even turbo-mode, BUT the Sr15 delivers enough power for my headphones though:
I have the HD660s, running them at 65-105 (max!!!) and the Ultrasone Edition M Plus (55-85 max), both connected balanced, both sounding just perfect and still some resources available.
And the Sr15 again gives me that nice grin and thrill on old tracks, on which the X5 III did not after 2 years!

Battery drain of the Sr15: I came to my conclusion, that round about 10% of the battery get drained in 1 hr, which leads to 9-10 hrs batterytime when listening to SD-card-tracks without playing arround too much with device, very similar to the FiiO X5 III.

But I also have one big question, how do you know when the Sr15 is fully charged, when it is powered off ? On my device it shows a charging screen and the display shuts down after few seconds, but I am not able to turn the display on again by simply pressing the power button or any other button to check loading status like you might be used from other Daps like the FiiO. As the Sr15 has no quick-charge-ability (as far as I know) it would be very usefull to check that without having to start the device.

If you plug out the charge cable and plug it back in again when the device is off, the battery icon appears again with the charge level.

I just hold down the on/off button to check if the battery is full charge or not (first it appears empty then full battery sign).

Can anyone compare the sound quality of the R6 and SR15? I have been interested in the ESS Sabre DACs in the R6 and am not familiar with the Cirrus Logic DACs in the SR15.

Not looking for fanboys of either player and I’m not trolling SR15 lovers. Just genuinely curious about if one may be superior to the other in sq or if they are both good but just different.

that's my question too. Just sold my X7ii that sounded amazing, but the software freaked me out and now I am on the game for a new DAP and I am actually deciding between these two to drive majorly my CA Andromeda S, AEON Flow Open, DT1990.

I just thought it would boot up by holding the on/off button too long! Was used to tip just quick by FiiO.

Sorry for the delay in response. Yes, we've used 3.5 without issue. It all depends also on how loud you like to listen.

Also Jason, i've gone to a local retailer here in my city of Montreal Canada. the stores name is "Layton Audio" and their site ( http://www.laytonaudio.ca ).
They're official retailers of A&K however, they told me when i went to place an order for my SR15 Norma that A&K are having supplier issues with deciding to choose new suppliers for their product. Is this news mainstream amongst all official A&K retailers? because now im on a waiting list until the store gets a new supplier from A&K

We used a distributor in Canada in the past. A few weeks ago we mutually decided to end the relationship. We will be distributing direct to Canadian dealers instead of going through a third party distributor. We are still in the process of changing over. Hoping to have full distribution running in December for Canada.

Canadian customers can also order directly from the Astell&Kern US website - us.astellnkern.com

The issue with ordering from your US website, is Canadians are then stung with Customs fees, brokerage fees, tax, duties, exchange rate, additional credit card exchange fees for purchasing in the US. It's very pricey. Ordering via Amazon US has a similar impact. Would recommend you have a A&K Canadian subsite and/or direct purchase from Amazon Canada not just Amazon US. This would clean all of these extra fees up. This would be a good time to do it given you are switching over distributors.

Yeah i just checked their us site and bam, its more expensive than just ordering it direct from amazon.ca.
The problem with the A&K amazon.ca is its the u.s. one so the reviews are terrible because of the issues you mentioned above and because people havent been able to communicate with the retailer.. i might have to wait till december then

@Tsukuyomi I spoke to our sales team this morning. We are expecting to finalize the transition with our Canadian dealers early next week and hopefully start shipping ASAP product to replenish stock.
