So, I’m thinking about buying the SP2000, but seeing as how it’s a bit of an older model now, I’m wondering: has anyone heard if or when there might be something like an SP3000 released? I don’t want to spend this kind of money and then see an updated model released three months from now.
I suppose this depends on when AKM will release a new D/A chip to surpass the AK4499EQ chip.

Hi Darius,

Playback time - I’ve never completely run the battery completely down on Amazon UHD but my best guess would be 9+ hours, fully charged on strong and consistent wifi signal and with wired Iem rather than bluetooth.

Re stream/download - Amazon UHD confirmed below. Ditto Tidal (new firmware due this week to fix a login issue created at the Tidal end), Qobuz. Expecting same on spotify.

I have Amazon Music HD installed and it shows that the max supported is 24/48?? Why can't it play 24/192 ?

Try to play a local 24/192 file from SD card before opening Amazon HD. That seems to do the trick.

That’s what I was afraid of. Thanks. Anybody have any ideas for a better music player than the stock one? Really looking for a better equalizer. The AK one just doesn’t seem to do much.
You can't install any other music player on the device.

You can install foobar2000 or the Onkyo player (both are supported) and use them as player.
Also you can use the SP2000 as Roon endpoint and in this way, you're able to use the DSPs from Roon.
My problem with the SP2000 and the SR25 is, that the player (also in using foobar) cannot act as gapless DLNA client and so I prefer Roon.

Is anyone using Anker 18w charger for their sp2000? Any issues?
per the user manual:

"Charging via USB Wall Adapter

1. Commercially available 9V 1.67A output adapters may be used for charging

Fast charging time: Approx. 2 hours 30 minutes (Fully discharged,

Power-off, 9V 1.67A adapter) / Normal charging: Approx. 5 hours

(Fully discharged, Power-off, 5V 2A adapter)

A fast charger of 9V 1.67A may be used. Using a 12V adapter will not

charge the device and may cause malfunction.

The manufacturer shall not be responsible for problems caused by

the use of adapters that do not adhere to the recommended

specifications."

there was a discussion a few pages back how larger usb c charges have caused issues with the battery.

I use an old Apple Phone charger. the old one with the removable / changeable plug. A lot of off brand cell phone chargers have questionable electronics, hence the reason I used the Apple charger. not the best I know, but its better than a lot.

@JasonNYC would AK consider making a USB charger for its devices? something with surge protection would be very cool. something that we know would be compatible with AK devices. Just an idea
