Anyone vs the ak300? What about optical out? The 300 series do optical via the headphone output. I want to connect it via optical to phantom devialet

The Kann does not have optical out. My guess is that it has been replaced by USB digital audio out for future AK DAPs, but that is just a guess.

There are some options on Ebay but are expensive.
The ones for AK300 series will fit as they are all same sizing.

Anyone know how to revert back the firmware on KANN? I cant seem to find firmware on their site. I am wondering if rolling back might address the player not sensing HO being taken out and hence not pausing?

AK does not make the firmware available for their models that upgrade using WiFi. A hardware issue is much more likely since others have reported their's functioning properly under the latest firmware.

what about scanning? How many time for scannig a full 512 sd card when you turn on the unit ?

First time it will scan the full 512GB card for about 10-15 min. After that, after restarting it might take about 30 sec.

My Dignis case arrived today. The bottom cover is rather redundant though as it adheres to the DAP with a 3M adhesive. I will rather leave it exposed.

They should keep everything covered on the bottom, except the charging port. Poor design decision.

As do the other AK 300 series DAPs and the AK240, but they did not have that capability when introduced. If I remember correctly USB Audio Out was added in Firmware 1.25 about a year ago. The Kann is the first new DAP introduced since Astell & Kern added USB Audio Out to their line.

AK70 was the first that introduced audio usb out and it does not have optical output.

I forgot about the AK70, but the A&ultima SP1000 does have Optical Out and does not say it has USB Audio Out so my guess about optical's future looks wrong.
