Astell&Kern A&ultima SP3000

Hello,

Any benefit of using "LINE OUT"?

Using SP3000 in car audio with 3.5mm to RCA.

Thank you,
If you use the SP3K in ‘normal’ output mode the volume control remains active and you’d have variable volume on both the SP3K and your radio. Line-out mode ‘fixes’ the voltage output from the DAP and gives volume control over to your radio. You can also try the different output voltages from the SP3K to test which one is most compatible with your radio i.e. not causing clipping and/or sufficient range on the volume control. I found nothing on the A&K website or the SP3K manual that adds to this. Maybe other users have more experience of this than I do.

Yes, SP2K also has line-out capability. I think some of the output voltages are different compared to the SP3K but should work just the same. Don’t forget to activate line-out by firstly selecting line-out from the options at the top of the screen and then moving the volume button to activate it on the touch screen.

It turns out changing language of the device changes the sound, try this with Japanese.
Please could you describe exactly what you hear for us lesser-eared mortals. Is it just a change of volume or frequency response or is there more than that? Maybe the DAP is tuned for the general preferences of each market.

The A&ultima SP3000T will be available in May 2024 at authorized Astell&Kern dealers worldwide for $2,999.
Ahhh, it is again.
The tube version has a lower segment than the SP true flagship. The SP2000T falls short in sound quality compared to the SP2000, which raises questions about its overall performance.

2000T was a disappointment, tube interference was insane with and without wifi on sensitive iems. Let's see how about 3000T and how its compare in sq vs SP3000
I owned the 2000T for a very short time. I thought it sounded really good overall. But I couldn’t hear a huge difference between the modes.

I love that the SP3000 is immune to interference. I can even put my phone on top of it and it stays pitch black all the time.

Is anyone else here experiencing very bad standby time? Looks like my unit is draining 10% batter/hour when idle.... I don't think it's normal.

I tried a factory reset, but no luck..
