Are the Sennheiser HD 650's the best stereo headphones that can be had for about $350?
had the at ad700 got rid of them and now have the Denon D2000
got mine for around $200 their are some deals on them if you look
not sure on the amp ? they are pretty darn good without the amp that is one reason I got them ? also reading other things and trying to compare the 650 are very nice but ended up with these ?
the fact the 650 would be about $350 with no amp and the Denon can be found for way cheaper $220 or so and in the tons of reviews I had read it seems that some like the denon more ? and it really boiled down to what the person owned ? so is the 650 better ? I bet 650 owners will say so and D200 owners might like theirs more ?
but again the 650 many say needs a decent amp to really bring them out and the budget with a nice amp puts it in the $500 range
You will probably want a big soundstage with good positioning.
You could get an AKG K701, never owned one myself.

AD700's
Search the forums, see what you might like, It would be even better if you could demo them.
I own an HD650, and you need more than a mixamp, but if you have enough money, they could be a good gaming headphone, but you'll have to spend more that 350 mate.
