P.S. Old Fart is not a matter of age. Old fart is a state of mind.

I remember back in the old days when there were only 10 members on head-fi. I think I joined the day after Jude did. Does that make me an old fart?

I reckon the easiest way to tell the old farts is that we have post counts that are massively weighted to the early days of the forums before a "like" button was ever even thought of. So the old farts have thousands of posts and about 2 "likes" - that marks you out as proper old school in my book

Wasn't this forum started from the audio t station or something like that? I was a member of that one a loong time ago and found a post from myself here around 2008 using a different signon, i think it was from the previous forum.

I joined in August 2001 and I think the original start up was in June but I could easily have memory failure at this point

Looking at Jude's join date, I'd say you were correct.

I'm still in touch with some of the original forum members, but I do wonder what happened to some of the others. Anyone know what ever happened to Ai0tron?

I just remembered, it was a little more than 10 yrs ago or something.
I bought a pair of grados from a local headfier.
And the seller insisted that he would come to my store to drop them off since he were planning to hung around LA downtown with his buddy.
So one Saturday morning, he and his buddy drove in a suv, and delivered me the headphones in person.
While handing me the headphones, he told me that his buddy owns 2 r10s. And his buddy told him to tell me that.
I told him That's good but why are you telling me that? Are you bragging?
And his buddy, that was in a driver seat, was smiling and said, Oh! Yes!
And they drove away

I forgot who they were. I think they were in 60s and I wasnt even 30! back then.
