Looks like Euro Galaxy S3 with CyanogenMod 10.1 is now working with USB-DAC's!  
 
No go yet on the North American S3.

Did you try the other suggestion on just leaving it plugged in for a few hours?  Don't touch it!! Don't peek, don't 'just check'. Just keep your greasy mitts off of it and let it charge up for a few hours.  Try that first before you start pulling everything apart.. trust me... I know.

While you could probably use it via wifi, you'd never be able to activate it on Verizon's network, and you'd probably have a lot of trouble reselling it. Not to mention the fact that the last legitimate owner of a device reported stolen can have the ESN restriction removed, so the person you'd be purchasing it from may well be a thief, and there are a few moral implications there worth considering. 
 
I'd pass if I were you. Quickly.

In summary, this was all an exercise in music listening convenience for me and obviously NOT an audiophile quest. However, I do believe that devices such as these and the applications being developed are on the verge of further revolutionizing this hobby in a big way soon. After my initial experience with this (basic) media box, I can certainly see why Logitech decided to kick the SB Touch to the curb. well who says you have to, if you have it set up properly, and maybe a few scripts. can toss it in a car, and and DNLA the music to it, its all controlled from iMediaShare anyway. 
 
Pair up with a good DAC, and we have ourselves an in-car media solution, compared to ALL the ****ty HU's available.

Great news everyone!

The patch that jacknorris was working on over at XDA works for the i9300 and the Nexus 7! (No US S3 confirmed to be working atm *sadface*)
This means that we can get our AOSP/AOKP fix!
 
Currently running CM10.1 with Siyah 1.8.6 using the D-zero, it all works flawlessly! Moreover, it seems that the phone REALLY uses the dac now. On stock/stock roms, you could still change the volume on the phone whilst a external dac was connected, giving the impression that the phone was still using the internal dac. But now the volume is stuck a max and you can't change it. Don't now if it's placebo but I actually noticed a few details here and there with this patched applied which kinda convinced me that the phone is actually using the dac now.

Could anybody tell me with what kernels, roms, music players does the fiio e07k work with the samsung galaxy s3. I know that it works with android 4.1.2 but i need more details so i can be sure that it works and then i can order it.
