Awesome. 200GB microSD is around the corner now. In case 128GB microSD isn't enough to hold all that FLAC on your phone.

Didn't see this mini to micro cable on the list:

$2.53 with free shipping:

Works well with my Fiio E17 and Note 3.

Isn't 20 cm too long? I'm thinking about the 14 cm one from JDSLabs even though it comes out to around $7 with shipping :/ : http://www.jdslabs.com/products/86/micro-to-mini-usb-otg-cable/

Would something like this still be suitable if all my music is from streaming via Google Music?

For portable use, the FiiO E18 works with my Galaxy Note 3, iPod Touch 5G, Galaxy Nexus 7 2013 (Lollipop) and used to use a Galaxy S3 with it as well. It works with all apps, including Google's Music Player, even with All Access.
Are you also interested in Desktop DACs?

Hi.

I've been reading about the new oppo HA-2 and it seem to be a good option too.

I have the Fiio Alpen, but I would like to have a better dac amp to pair with my S5 using UAAP and Yuin PK1.

Can somebody give me some advise?

Sorry if this is not the right forum to ask about it.

If you're only going to be listening to compressed streaming services then all you really need is a DAC capable of 48/16 with a decent amp section. You should look into the SMSL M2 or the new Topping NX2.

Nothing wrong with a Fiio E18 or other inexpensive DACs that might do a bit more. The Topping only kicks out 100 mW. and the SNSL 130 mW, depending on one's headphones that may not be enough. Sometimes it's worth spending a drop more and I'm not saying a lot more.

I've reviewed the Topping NX1 which has the same amp section as the NX2 and it's definitely not a slouch. It can drive the Senns HD650 and the Beyer DT770 250 Ohm loud enough, plus it is very transparent and true to source. If you're in the market for a FiiO I'd get the E17k over the E18. It's better in all aspects, and it's cheaper. It really depends on how much you really want to spend. But if you're never going to be using the DAC at the resolution of 16/48 then there is really no point of spending more on a high res DAC.

The newer E17K looks pretty nice.
Is the NX2 made of metal or plastic? I have a friend that bought a Topping amp, we opened it and I'll say that the build quality was awful, hopefully the NX2 is better.

The NX2 outer shell is made entirely out aluminium. The reason for the "looking awful" is because they're all hand built. I doubt the the NX2 will look any better, but all in all, you get what you pay for. You can't really dismiss it if it works and you've only pay $60 for it.
