  @ Danba, is there any reason why the LG G3 did not make it to your menu

?

 
The reasons are as follows:
 
1. I don't own a LG G3.
I have two Android smartphones Samsung Galaxy S3 / Note3. I switched from iPhones.
 
2. I favor Samsung smartphones because the Galaxy S3 is the first Android smartphone which includes a native USB audio feature.
 
3. I also favor Samsung flagship smartphones because Samsung is the biggest Android smartphone maker: biggest smartphone maker, biggest number of smartphone owners, biggest potential number of votes for the Goggle issue "24614: Add support for USB Audio".
I don't track custom USB audio implementation because most people use stock devices.
I don't have time to track every Android device.
 
4. I also favor the Android L-powered Google Nexus 5 / 7 because their native USB audio would become the reference USB audio implementation in the USB DAC industry: USB audio will be included in every USB host-featured Android device, the dominant computing device.

Is there a way for UAPP to access SAMBA shares via Wi-Fi networks? If so, just wondering if DSD were supported that way.

 
Yes, with a device called a Ravpower Filehub. See below (and search the thread for more info). I have one and find it incredibly useful, with one major caveat: you can only select one file at a time, so no playlists or folder playing yet, which means it ends up being more useful at the moment for movies than music (in my opinion, anyway). If you were really dedicated, you could attached multiple tracks together into one big track and play them back here, I suppose, but I've never actually done it-- I'm just waiting for a fix for UAPP and/or Ravpower that allows for queueing up multiple files and am content to piddle around until then. 
 
If there's a better solution available, I'm not aware of it, but I'd love to be!

  Onkyo HF Player is coming by the end of July, too bad they're resampling everything like DSD to 48/16 until they've figured out how to do bit-perfect playback. LOL

Sorry for any confusion, but in our exuberance about USB audio, we flipped the status to Released a bit early.  It is true that L developer preview includes some USB audio support, but it is not quite complete in L developer preview. Please bear in mind that there are myriads of use cases and devices out there. And while we may not support all of this initially, we will do our best to support as many as we can at L launch, and work to bring this support to the entire ecosystem as fast as we can. We're continuing to work on it, so I'm changing status to Assigned. Thanks in advance for your patience!

Basically all standard USB audio devices should work.
Problems have been reported only with TAS1020B based DAC's.
 
The DX50 is not listed, but I'm trying to find a way to use it as a DAC since Ibasso is still awaiting for certification of its drivers from MSFT.

How does the S5 + E18 combo sound compared to the AK100 II? I'm thinking of getting an E18 for my S5, coincidentally, and would like to know how the DAC and amp of the E18 compares to those of a dedicated DAP like the AK100 II.

Apparently, the iBasso DX50 can't work with a Mac: it is not a standard USB DAC.

As far as I know, existing Android USB audio implementations are only compatible with standard USB DAC, i.e. compatible with USB Audio Class (1 or 2) standard.

EDIT: I checked it out & the DX50 is not listed as a supported device, furthermore it seems that you can only use the UAPP native player.  My goal was to stream music from other apps using the USB audio output. I didn't want to tinker with my Rom just yet, but I may give the beta Android L a try when I have time.
