Android: Neutron Music Player

Hi guys, I have an LG V20 and downloaded Neutron. I CANNOT get it to load files/folders from my SD card. I have it set to scan, and then it gives me the "Searching for Music Files" message and then never loads or finds any. Am I doing something wrong?

It looks like your SD card isn't mounted. See the card logo @ the top with the x in it?

Then how come it's showing the card like that? I have a V20 too & that logo doesn't show for me with my SD card.

I have no idea....I just double checked literally just now. I un-mounted it, and I re-mounted it. The symbol you're talking to is still there. Are we sure that doesn't mean "no sim card"? (because I don't have one)

EDIT: The music folders are all listed under the "Directory Selection" option, but it doesn't want to seem to actually scan them.

EDIT: manually selected every single music folder and told it to scan every single one. Seems to be scanning now.

EDIT: scanned everything in now. That was really confusing.

@stuck limo I just installed Neutron on my LG G6 and manually set up the source without an issue. I stopped using Neutron after getting Onkyo HF Player not because one was better or worse, just found the many options with Neutron were overkill for my current needs. I like simplicity and the HF Player is excellent and very simple. Now for those who like lots of options and controls, hard to beat Neutron for that. Anyway, I would suggest trying to manually set up your sources.

Looks like you were posting while I was posting, yes manual scanning is the way to go. And like you, I have my music on an SD card. Cheers.

In the panel of your last pic, click the plus and add the root folder where your music is?

Try manually make new Source and point to your sd card directory

Hi had neutron for a while now. However I'm a bit stuck, what i would like to get is Neutron to find my Nas when I'm out of the house. At the moment it finds it ok over Wi-Fi. Have read all 38 pages without any luck.

The Nas is a Qnap model
Anyone any ideas
Thanks for reading this

You'll need do set up a VPN on your router and configure your phone (tablet? doesnt matter) to use that VPN. Once connected (regardless if over cellular or some foreign wifi) you'll be able to access your NAS same way as being on the same local network.

Setting a VPN can be a little tricky as not every router supports this functionality (as you need to set up VPN server not vpn CLIENT!). And from my experience usually you'll need a cellular network operator that assigns real "external" IPs - some of them are using NAT and local pools and this makes phone VPN connection impossible..

This is just a brief info to point you in right direction.

Many thanks for the quick reply.

You have certainly helped me with what you have suggested, now the problem is finding a really good VPN as what I've seen so far is quite a lot to choose from.

Again many thanks

I'm quite new to this awesome player app and I'm not sure of one thing. Every time I open the Neutron it automatically starts to play from the last remembered position which gives my ears quite an unpleasant hit. Is there any option to turn this feature off? I just want the Neutron to remember the last position, not to play it automatically. I searched the whole settings and didn't find anything.

Connection & control
Play if output attach
Deselect line out.

Hi! For folks using NeutronMP on Fiio x7ii, does your NeutronMP forget the current playlist and reverts to a playlist of all music tracks after a x7ii power restart (this is what's happening on mine)?

I also sometimes see a brief flashing of a red SD card icon in the middle of the NeutronMP screen, as if the SD card was dismounted and remounted.

Any ideas?

~Leon
