So you have no proof you can show?
If at am not mistaken…….If you look back through this thread, you may see sajunky has brought this up once or twice before……..if you want to read more about it….

All the best

if you don't mind I would like to know what post # that is thanks.... Or if Sajunky can tell me the post # that would be great as well.

best regards.

See my previous response with a hint. I have no problem in posting it later if no-one can find it. :)

Of course as for a definition. May pulse response looks like NOS, but it has a hint of pre-ringing. It gives a suspicion that Digital filter is used, but profiled to hide excesive ringing. When it is done such way, it indicate that it is done not for sound quality in mind, as sonic characteristic of such filter is poor. At that moment there is no proof that digital filter is used and JA provided a vague explanation to the cause of pre-ringing. However a proof for digital filtering is given later in a form that only professionals can read.

If you read the JA measurement description:

"Ignore the very small amount of symmetrical ringing before and after the single full-scale sample, which is due to the antialiasing filter of Audio Precision's A/D converter operating at a sample rate of 200kHz"

Pfft, get outta here with your common sense and actually reading the full context of something.

What are you sensible or something?

Just to be clear. You are quoting my post where I described this particular JA explanation as a vague.

JA has skills and years of experience, I can't believe that he made such a wrong assessment. I can only guess that he was under pressure to not drop a bomb to masses. In fact during a test he takes your attention to the proof that there is digital processing in so called NOS mode. Without calling things by a name he speaks to those who can read. And as you see, there are already people on this forum who can.

Can someone explain the point of contention in this thread? Is someone saying that Holo is not true NOS? Or is this about some sort of filter that’s purpose is to make Holo DACs measure better?

What is this cryptic “go find the evidence yourself” game that seems to be going on?

Who is JA?

Holo is NOS.
JA: John Atkinson.

John Atkinson is JA. He's the one that does measurements for stereophile.

Sajunky has made various claims about different products. Holo isnt nos, the SA-1 has a power supply flaw etc. But then refuses to back them up with any evidence and instead attacks anyone who disagrees for not being knowledgeable enough. (whilst praising audio gd as being the best possible d/a converters seemingly)
Normally giving cryptic 'I've already given proof' or 'go find it yourself' type answers.
There isn't actually much contention. Just needless arguing.

Best just to ignore him. But difficult to do when he keeps attempting to derail the thread

Bro, you just told me to look up JA's research on the May. Now you are saying he was wrong, because it contradicts what you've been saying. Are you sure you're not playing games?

I have received mine and would just want to tell people to shut up and listen to music, with the May if possible. It will change you.

Really good advice! So much of this thread is much ado about nothing. I listen with my ears. Until they develop an audio approved listening bot I'll trust my senses above measurements. Oh, but then you tell me the bot is programmed by a human. oh my.
