If you mean wrapped around the back and then top of the ear, then i would just say that I think you can't even wear them that way without flipping Left and Right to be inccorrect.

so these are supposed to be worn only cable straight down ?

btw , i like the name game you have there AKG + junkie , clever one

It can be worn over the ear without flipping channels.

To be honest, I never wore it down. I don't wear any iem down, except the half in ears like the Phiaton PS210. I think the wrap around case is the culprit for kinks. I never used it with my personal pair and don't remember it ever having any kinks.

I am hoping to get a hold of a unit to compare with the older model. For start aluminum is lighter to wear. It should change the sound too as we have a dynamic driver in there.

should aluminium sound better?

also, as i searched some pictures around google, someone opened a pair of k3003 by cutting through them, and the dynamic and bas were not encased in the metal frame, but encased in a blue thingy thing, probably a sound damper, so there should be no change, hypotetically if akg changes the housings.

Yesterday, I received some information from Harman International on the part number, availability, and price of certain pieces of the AKG K3003i, so I thought I'd post it here in case others found it useful. For items that are not now available, you can go to the Harman website and place your name on a waiting list, and they will email you when the part is in stock. You can then order it with your credit card number and day and evening phone numbers.

2 weeks in, the K3s are definitely a keeper - in fact, i will be selling today my 2nd pair of RE-600 as these have been sitting idly for the past 15 days and ithey will not get any usage time as long as the K3 is around
