Wow, thats impressive. I don't see sudden drop off but I have used them 3 hrs straight and run at lower volume with ANC and doubt I would be at 55%.. Currently at about an hr plus at 75% with volume at 25%
Sorry, I didn't advise for myself - 45 minutes later was 33%, a while later 20% - it looks like the reading wasn't updated on my phone - which is a shame...

I have a 4.5hr train journey to do on Friday - am curious as to what will happen first, the batteries die or the train arrive...

It will be real close but you will be happy in the end I’m sure

One trick is to just use one AirPod for a bit while the other charges - then swap for the other ear - then back to both. Can’t use ANC with just one I don’t think but you could at least keep listening.

Nowadays you can have power banks slightly bigger than the AirPods Pro’s case.

Completely off topic, but - yes, I'm going to spend the weekend with my girlfriend, so you're totally on the money there :)

One thing that I cannot take away from these is that they have lowered my average listening volume... My previous weekly average was 93db... now:

Can’t fault Apple for finally giving me a product where I can turn down the volume!

Best thing for hearing long term!

It won’t make any difference, the case already stores enough power anyway.

The problem is that they can only hold 4.5 hours of run time (when new, this will drop after a year) with their own internal battery, and can’t be charged when in use. So after 4 something hours the internal battery will be depleted and the user will have to put them back in the case waiting for them go charge again -> no more earphones for that part of the flight.
You can use one earphone while charging the other. Also, it only takes 5mins to charge 1hr of use

This means taking off the left earphone for 5 minutes and then the right earphone for 5 minutes ... and repeating the process every single hour until then end of the flight (to keep them running once the initial 4 hours are used-up). Not very practical/enjoyable on long a flight (wearing only one would defeat the purpose of noise cancelling).

Is this an iOS App?

I imagine a foam ear plug can help when wearing a single APP.

I've been doing just that opposite my Plantronics Voyager 5200; a one-ear piece with boom mic. I've generally been keeping foam earplugs handy during travels, in the case of noisy people sitting within earshot.

I see, did the app measured your environment or the music level your device was sending out? If the former, your surroundings is quite loud.

Yes, it is part of the Apple Health app :)

There is an element of that that you can set up (via the Apple Watch), but - no, the details listed are your listening volume, rather than the environment.
