Radio Shack has different grades (the gold series isn't too terrible), and the one nearest me sells monster stuff.

Has any body heard the HD25-1II as well as the Phiaton MS300/400? I am guessing that the TMA-1 is closer to the Phiatons than the Sennheisers in sound signature, but it would be great to have some confirmation on that.

Waiting for the big analysis

^^^This. Really looking forward to a comparison between the TMA-1 and the M50. I recently got my M50 and am looking at these as a portable phone, but it's pricey.

I used to have the M50's, but since they're not really very good for portable use, I didn't bother fixing them when they broke. So now I'm getting these in a week or two.

If anyone needs a cable that has a threaded end, you can use the ultrasone short cable. I was able to screw in the coiled cable from the TMA-1 into my HFI-2200 so I know for sure they use the same threads.

That looks perfect!  Thank you for pointing this out!  A bit expensive for what it is, but if it does the job... :)

I noticed that these headphones are a bit on the loose side. when i lean forward to read a magazine or a book, the headset slides off. Should i contact AIAIAI?

If you wish, it's probabaly 1st generation, the ones me and taylors ordered are 2nd gen. The 2nd gen fixes issues with clamping and and isolation.

So there must be two different versions out there after all.  I would definitely contact AIAIAI.  As stated in my write up, mine are far from falling off my head and feel "just right" in terms of clamp.  I can jerk my head in a headbanging motion without incident.  It seems like the headband would be fairly easy to swap out as well.

DUDE SHIPPING IS 27 BUCKS? WHAT A RIP~!!!

I rather buy from aiaiai......for 20 bucks~

only $5.45 shipping for me so a total of $21.44.

My TMA-1's are probably from the same batch as everyone else here too since I ordered from digitalfix on monday and got them on 12/3. I could use just a smidge more clamp though even though they do stay on my head really well. I have a rather large melon so I have to max out the headband. I'd really have to start headbanging in order for me to knock these off my head.
