Best in the Verse Cables

Received a 4 ft cable from Zach at Best in the Verse Cables for my Aeon. Very well made cable, built to request and professionally packaged. I can highly recommend as a replacement for the Aeon, and Zach's prices are very competitive against larger cable makers..
Not that the Dummer cable is bad, in fact it is well made, just a bit stiff and long for portable use.

Compared to what? They're much more demanding than my other headphones (HD650, LCD-X, HP50) -- if I'm switching between them, I have to crank the volume knob up significantly higher to get the Aeon to the same volume. I'm sure there are harder-to-drive headphones out there, but these are definitely above average in how much power they need.
This isn't indicated anywhere in their specs....
Low impedance input at only 13ohm?
Even 93db/mw sensitivity isnt bad.

I'd love to see a picture. I've got a 4ft cable coming from ImpactAudioCables that should be shipping any day now and I'm very excited. It's an 8-wire OCC copper litz one-off that he doesn't usually advertise so should be very unique.

Wanted to go with Best in the Verse, but every time I want to order, he's closed and trying to catch up. Looks like ImpactAudio is running into the same problem now.

With all these people ordering cables I'm seriously considering starting a cable company.
You should it appears these cable companied is swamped. Orders take months before they ship. Even with a day job I suppose one can build at least one cable assuming all materials are available.

I think its also because none of the mass production companies make any good audio cables. Even just for connecting Audio Stacks together its hard to find any good cables, especially ones which don't cost an arm and a leg.

I've been using the new Schiit Loki with the Aeon (closed). Up until now, I've used the foam pads to give that extra bass/lower mid push I feel the Aeon needs. It slightly reduces the clarity and lightness of the upper range, but the extra bass was more important. With the Loki, I've turned up the 2 lower frequency knobs to my liking and taken out the foam pads, getting the best of both worlds and more precision to boot. It really is an awesome little device.

I definitely prefer it over the Xbass on the iFi BL, which has only one gain setting and is too strong for the Aeon (and most headphones). If you enjoy that Xbass effect but want something more precise, I highly recommend the Loki.

Time is money as they say, I make all my own cables but getting the money to start up a cable company would not be easy, and you need to make sure there is demand as you can only really make profit if you invest in a full spool of cable (which I currently cannot).

So whilst you can beat most cable companies prices on your own, if you want to get bigger it takes a lot more effort and things could get out of hand quickly :D

Cables are not that quick to make, although you get better over time.

Impact Audio Cables is usually about a month. I've ordered 3 cables from them this year and the first 2 came in in less than a month. The last one I just ordered was on Sep 30th and they gave me an estimated ship date on or before OCT 28th.
