if it was pretty much any other headphone then yes, but Mr. Speakers appears to be the only one using the connector they use so the selection is not large. Since Mr. Speakers said they can make the cable call them and order the DUMMER cable with 2.5mm jack. About cables, there are a lot of cables in the market, they claim that it sounds better, some of them costs over $1000. Can a cable really improve the sound or they are just money traps?

This is very subjectively. I do always replace stock cables and in most cases hear the difference in a good way but mainly in transparency / clarity.
And I'm not ready to pay more than $200 for a good cable)

I’d say that ever so slightly, the bass is tighter, mids are fuller and highs are as good as they are.
But honestly it might all be placebo.
I had some questions about products differences and got in touch with the company through their online form and got an answer overnight.
As far as I’m concerned, I will definitely return when I want/need other cables.

I still love my Alpha Primes, but have had these on my hit list since they launched. I finally got to hear them last weak, and just did not like them at all. I know it's a totally different HP, but for those who have/had both, is the Aeon Closed that totally different in sound sig? I was comparing them with the Audeze LCD-2 CB and the Focal Elegia, and it didn't even sound in the same league, which just doesn't seem right. Maybe a lemon? Maybe tuned weird? Or maybe just not my sound sig anymore?

I don't think anyone can answer your question without you saying what didn't work for you, what system you were on, what music you prefer, and whether or not any tuning was installed.

I for one would naturally dispute the statement that we're "not in the same league," that is neither a fair nor complete statement. Our reliability, comfort, build quality and sound are top flight for the price, but naturally there are other products with different approaches to voicing and those may work better for you. Nothing wrong with that, if everything sounded the same this would be a bloody boring hobby.
