It's a balance between all the advantages of a thin and light cable and a thicker but less tangly one.

The best thing I've found is to wrap it around a few fingers and then use a cable tie of some sort.
This is better than wrapping it around something (e.g. Bobino) because of cable memory.

You could also try using the pockets of the case, or if you use both, Linum's own Organizer case has even more pockets.

True, but since acs adopted it as the standard, and there aren't other options to use. Might as well be acs.

I get that you mean well, really, however the T2 connector is proprietary to Estron. For example Cosmic Ears offer the Linum cable with their iem. Trying to pin the Linum cable to ACS is just not appropriate

Sorry to hear so many fit problems which for the time being will be an issue for CITY purchases. It shouldn't be too much longer before 3d scanning of the ear canal and lobe make this impression lottery a thing of the past.
Having done many impressions of my own I made the decision to go direct to ACS.

The Encore have a shorter canal than Spiral Ears or Custom Art CIEMs, by a bit, but longer than my EarSonics EM32.

Ok so I've decided to go with ACS this time.  Got the appointment booked for next friday.  Any tips for impressions?  I've had a few open mouth impressions done before so know the process.  Not so sure about closed.  The last time I did it I think I made the mistake of clenching the jaw instead of being relaxed.  Does that make any sort of difference?  I will have given my ears a nice break from iems by not wearing them for at least a fortnight by next friday just to let them settle down.

ACS told me closed mouth for normal listening and open for stage use. You getting the Encore?

Not sure, heart says go for it, head and wallet go "aarrrgh".  May just stick with the evoke in either full or half shell (I seem to fare better with the half shell, but it's expensive for a single driver).  I've said before that I tend to use c/iems at work as noise plugs mainly to block the machinery and general ***** going on around (and there was a bit today!) so outright fidelity doesn't matter as much to me.  Just after a decent comfortable fit that I can wear for hours at a time.

Thanks

At ACS when I had my ear impressions done I wasn't given any instructions other than to relax. It was over in 3 minutes or so and my impressions were (of course) perfect. I had my mouth closed but I was relaxed, and the impressions were deep ones; much deeper than any I have ever dared to do on myself. ACS made me some custom sleeves based on my own impressions 2 years ago and they're also a perfect fit.
Where are you getting your impressions done?

If they are for work and not for walking or running then maybe the need for a bit more kick in the bass is not so important. I really liked the Evoke because it sounded like a more accurate presentation but the warmth of the Encores won me over

The bass is one of the best aspects of the Encores' sound but the midrange is pretty special too. I've heard only good things about the Evoke. I agree, for work use only they'd probably be more than adequate.

Hello Tony,
I'm glad you're happy with your Encores, it feels like we're part of a very small group of ACS admirers.
When do you use yours primarily and what do you like listening to? I'm not very up to date with my music so it's interesting to meet someone who has the good taste in their choice of headphone to see if we share common ground in our listening tastes.
Are you off to CanJam in August too?
Regards
Trev
