Got my 1657 little over a week ago and fitted it with XELASTEC tips, which helped bring out the vocals nicely. Very happy with the sound!

Whilst the new 1677 is out, a cable upgrade for the previous release seem like a good idea
Cables maximize the in ear's potential to higher levels...

i don't fully buy the cable ideas especially since Acoustune's previous cables are either mediocre-nice in both SQ&build , or they just oxidize like crazy.
nonetheless , i wanna try the new lineup !!!!

my 1670ss was NO exception. from the day i opened my box, the oxidation already started! and its from Pentaconn.
But in fairness, just a cosmetic flaw, SQ was never affected.
But still unsightly for my eyes...

Yeah , it happened to me too , cable got green after around 2 months , i had to take it to the local DIY cable maker to add insulation around it so it won't look like i'm using a 5$ cable from aliexpress. But in all fairness it paired nice with my 1551/1670 and some other mmcx iems , just nothing too outstanding though.my 1670ss was NO exception. from the day i opened my box, the oxidation already started! and its from Pentaconn.

Have anyone here tried 1697?I've heard that it's a tad different from 1695.

Same as 1695, 1697 is also a favourite among audiophiles.

That's better. Cause my 1695ti gold color cable starting to have green stuff at the area which I hang on my ear.

I use my 1650 with an ALO SuperLitz. Have to say, no noticeable difference in SQ, so the only reason I use it is to use the 4.4mm balanced output on my N6ii. I think Acoustune cables are sufficiently high end not to really "need" an upgrade, so any cable rolling is purely a preference or convenience thing for me.
hi Jackpot77 - curious which amp module you are using on your N6ii to drive your 1650, and if you would characterize the resulting sound as [dynamic] vs [relaxed]?
I am in the market for DAP having searched for a desktop DAC/Amp for so long. Also wondering what other DAP / DAC / AMP you considered pairing for your 1650?
I am currently driving my 1650 with Apple’s lightning-to-3.5mm while on-the-go, and with iFi Micro iDSD BL IEM Match on my desktop. I find the latter took out some definition, but presents a relaxed sound I listen to for 5-6 hours at a time. Have not had that much time experimenting with a DAP.
Cayin N6ii is def at the top of my list with the versatility and sound; another I am considering is Questyle purist Q2PR. Much appreciate any guidance.
n.b. Your comment on cabling is spot-on.
