Why the weirdest reason ? 
 
Why would I keep a headphone that distort and that I bought for $200 ?
 
I like listening to music loud , but When I got the DT990 no distortion at ALL.
 
Also, I am actually happy that I returned them because I like the DT990 a lot.
 
One thing I hate about the DT990 is that if I increase treble even 1db it will sound piercing but hey.... that's not needed because the treble is good out of the box.

Because I don't think they should distort at all, or I think you would damage your hearing before they run out of steam.. Were they faulty in some way?

I know that's weird that they distort as you are not the only one who said that they shouldn't.....
 
 
However, I too knew it was weird that's why I returned them to the nearest guitar center for exchange but same exact thing happened.
 
I really don't know what happened or what was causing that but I know for sure that the DT990 is not distorting at all.

Provides bass without sacrificing the mids or highs, i want some bass response and feel that the ad700 don't provide.but I don't want the bass to overpower the mids or highs.
Sound isolation I live in a very loud home sadly.

I mainly listen to edm music so female vocals as well as male vocals are important.
 
I've been looking at dt770's 80ohms, ath a900x (little on the expensive side for me), koss dj pro100 ( its a great price on amazon so I would consider buying it and sending it back if I don't like). People have also mentioned me getting takstar 80s or sound magic hp100;s.
 
I am looking at a great deal on craigslist for hifi 580s with a fiio e11 for $110 I'm thinking about too.. I really just need something that has great clarity, decent sound stage, great isolation and not overpowering bass but bass that is present.
