For the price I would have to pay here for some STAX I would just get myself some HE-500 :p
I'm also super not a fan of thin sounding headphones. Lukewarm and musical is where it's at! At least for me.

Sure, but why are all STAX owners gathering in this thread?
Do STAX headphones make you like anime or do anime make you like STAX headphones?

It's too hard to describe what STAX sounds like, it's something you'll have to demo when you get the chance, but unfortunately, that's pretty hard because they're uncommon. You'll either love it or hate it, it will either sound thin and lifeless, or, magical and effortless to you, depending on how your brain is wired up.
size]

Think of them like the rangefinder cameras of the headphone world, they just offer a different experience and a different sound, so they're not necessarily 'better' compared to traditional headphones.

Because of the weak JPY, I guess they're becoming easier and easier to justify, that's why some members of this thread have been jumping on the bandwagon.

The SR-007 is a reaaaallyyyy good headphone for crappily mastered stuff, like anime music.

Personally I am not interested in current VR solutions at all, something like NerveGear is definitely the way to go. Its just meaningless to move real body in real space to do something in the VR...

Do you think actual VR will ever be possible? Maybe not in our lifetimes, eh?

I like to think of Oculus Rift as a super fancy monitor setup to help with immersion, my expectations aren't too high so I hope I'll be blown away. I'm shortsighted, so hopefully that won't be too much of a problem....

Also, you have balls ears of steel listening to anisong and such with the HD800, do you listen at a low level?

lol I thought the one is Alice but the pink one keep make me thinking milky holmes...

I think it's because of her hat.

Is the SR-007 really that forgiving? I only heard it with a few songs and it was awesome on the Liquid Lightning. The headband and earpad system is absolutely terrible though. It took me a minute to figure it out....

They really are.

And yeah, the headband and earpads are a pain, and being an electrostat, if the seal isn't just right the sound really suffers. Still, I like the adjustments, you can set them just right for your noggin.

Don't know, but yeah not very likely =_=
Immersion can be good, but I am not very optimistic on the fatiguing or headache effect of such devices, not only the graphics, but also physical properties like weight, heat, etc... btw perfect-sight here :D (always thinking of getting a faked megane orz)

Hmm I guess so. Recently back to using Lehmann amp (single-ended connection all the way), with unity gain my music listening level is about slightly lower from 9 o-clock, and between 10-11 when watching anime (where hearing everything is important as I watch raws).
With Bryston amp (low gain mode is +14db orz), I had to apply heavy digital attenuation, not even mention with balanced mode. (Will be passing it to next owner tomorrow yeah...)

Yeah, that's right! The people out there are too damn stupid to operate a volume knob!

Let's just end their misery and make everything super loud and super not dynamic!

Drums sounding like cardboard boxes and coffee mugs? They can't possibly care about such minor details!

Nice nice,

I got my Win 8 Pro for $15 so it wasn't too bad for me ither

Just wondering but does your Univ cover windows OS?

We can get one through school for free and one through the Dreamspark program through out school, but I need more than two licenses.

It's also nice to have a real, physical copy of Win8 as well. Their packaging is really nice!

Oh yeah, and I just got bach from the Microsoft employee store at Microsoft!
