Grado RS1i VS Grado GS1000i - My first impressions.

Hello all,    I currently have both Grado models - RS1i and GS1000i. My original plan is, ideally, to keep only one pair.    My source is an iMac with FLAC files and the DAC/Pre is the Meridian Explorer. It's a simple system, but seems to work well for the level of use I have.    My...

Grado PS1000: The Legendary Flagship (Review)

(Just a quick note, high end audio is highly subjective, and this review goes over strictly my honest thoughts on the PS1000, can people may disagree about what they hear with their ears)   The Grado PS1000 is considered one of the best headphones available in the headphone world and has...

    Audeze lcd-2 vs Grado gs1000i

I know I just posted a thread, but I wanted to see if anyone has tried the Grado gs1000i.  They are the same price as the Audeze.  It's the weight of these Audeze.  They are just terrible.  Amazing sound, but I just can't get used to them.

    Grado 1000i headphone issues

Hi all,   I would like to find out for the Grado GS1000i is it common to have one side of the headphone sounding softer than the other. Could this be a driver issue? I have 2 other Grado headphones the 325is and the SR60 and both have no such issues.   The story is, I had a grado GS1000i...

advice wanted: best headphone for Burson HA160D and my music

Hi   I ordered a Burson Audio HA160D since I could have a demo model at a good price and it seemed like a very good choice.   I am looking for a great headphone (preferable not more than 1200 dollars) to pair with it (for now I use the BW P5 on Ipod but I want something better for my...

    Grado SR225 > RS1 -- anybody prefer the SR225?

After a few months of changing out various Grado headphones in search of an upgrade from my SR225 (RS1 buttonless, HF1, RS2 vintage, RS1 vintage), I think I'm just gonna keep the SR225 (with TTVJ flats), sell the RS1 and call it a day. Does anybody else prefer the SR225 over the RS1?

Does Pink Floyd style music needs good soundstage to get fully appreciated?

I am asking this because I am about to order ms1i but while browsing through tons of threads I have found that a bigger sound stage will be better for listening to pink floyd style stuff. I listen to mostly 70s and 80s music (no hip hop / rap etc) and I love Pink Floyd and Queen the most.

    Mapletree Ear+ HD for Grado GS1000i ?

I did search for this info and either I'm not doing it right or it hasn't been discussed.  I have read many threads about what great synergy the ear+ HD has with Grados, particularly the RS1. I am wondering about the synergy with GS1000i since it doesn't really sound like other Grado models. My...

Grado PS-1000 with leather Audeze Headband

Hello, I had the Jmoney V2 band on originally, which was fine but it always felt a little uncomfortable & loose so I ordered the new LCD-2 leather band with yokes and played around with it. I ended up leaving on the Grado rods & putting a little tape around them (to protect & widen them...

    MS-2i or RS-2i

Hello.   I'm new to the forum. I've been using MS-1i, but I just got extra budget and wanted an upgrade. I mostly listen to hard rock/metal, but also listen to many other music like blues, k-pop, j-pop. I know that just a pair of headphones can't match all those genres, but considering...

    MINI-REVIEW: Grado GS1000i

Today, Uncle Erik wrote the following in a High-End Forum thread: “The GS-1000 was a big FOTM, then completely disappeared. I haven't seen a thread on it or a recommendation for a long time.” Erik’s remark reminded me of the fact that I once wrote a mini-review of the GS1000i but never posted...

Advise needed to improve my system

My system is a Gilmore Lite, Headroom Micro DAC. Headphones are Beyer 250 250 and Sennheiser HD 650. I use this setup from my computer using Apple Looseless.
