Looking into getting closed headphones in the $100 range.

Hi, I'm looking to get some closed back headphones for a friend. They're for someone who listens pop and country music, isn't too big on bass (so something that isn't considered overly "bassy" would be preferred), and enjoys vocals (usually female, sometimes male). Good isolation is a definite...

Hello!   I'm looking for some "good" around-ear headphones somewhere in the $100-$250 range. I was originally looking at the ATH-AD700s, but started getting second thoughts recently. I've been getting a lot of mixed reviews about them, and I'm a little afraid to purchase them and be...

Looking into "real" headphones (newbie here!)

Heyo,   I only recently started looking into what I've come to think of as "real" headphones, after seeing so many people suggest brands I'd never even heard of.  Right now I own a Razer Carcharias, with which I've not really noticed too many problems; however, with all the people praising...

Looking for advice for new headphones

So I've been looking around this forum as well as reading reviews on some over ear cans, and I've come down to a small list and would like some opinions. First off my price range is around $200, and I don't have an amp to drive any headphones, but I'm perfectly fine with buying one if need...

I've gone and tested several recommended headphones, and I am appalled. Looking for headphones that LAST, while delivering sound for under 300.

Hey all,   For the past week or so I've been on Head-fi trying to get recommendations for various different headphones for under 300.    The users of Head-Fi were nice enough to give me several suggestions, and today I was able to get myself down to Bay and Bloor Radio in Toronto to test...

Best circumaural headphones at the $200 price point?

I just broke my HD 280 pro's and I would like to upgrade to a better 'phone at a higher pricepoint.  I was looking at Sennheiser's HD 598's, but I was wondering if anyone had any other recommendations for headphones ~$200?

Looking for open headphones to complement current Ultrasone pair, ~$250 price range

After doing a lot of research about a year ago I settled on the Ultrasone HFI 680, which have been great. I replaced the stock earpads with velour which improved comfort quite a lot. I use them for music and gaming on my computer. However I am now looking to buy a pair of open cans to get more...

HI, im brand new to this forum, but I have a question for those "in the know". I currently own the Audio Technica ATH A700 headphones, and to me they sound excellent. Entry level Audiophile headphones? Budget up to $200

I listen to absolutely everything, with an emphasis on progressive metal, folk/indie, electronica, and post rock (basically I need something that can handle everything very well, as I'm pretty picky when it comes to sound) I've never bought a pair of audiophile quality headphones, but I've owned...

Hd 380 Pro vs Hd 558 vs Hd 595

Alright so I currently am deciding between three Sennheiser headphones: the Hd 380, Hd 558 and Hd 595. I will be using the headphones for my electric drums a lot but also will use them for my computer and Ipod. I know the 380's are the best choice for a musician trying to analyse the sound for...

    HD555 or HD595?

Greetings all. New to the forum and actual "audiophile"-isem. I know what I enjoy, and maybe I put too much emphasis on brand/looks of equipment. After doing a bit of looking around, I've decided to get the NuForce Icon for it's DAC capabilities. But that's where my direction goes a stray. I...

    ATH A700 w/ AD700 pads.

Got my AD700 pad's today courtesy of Audio Technica. Put them on my A700's. Comfort level increased a ton. Bass isn't as punchy, sound mellowed out a lot more and sounds more well balanced imo. I am a happy Head-Fi'er right now.
