BUILD & DESIGN

Comes with simple white box with brand name CCA on the front with no model indication and not much effort spent on the design and packaging as well bare minimum accessories which mean no case/pouch or cable tie . Accessories provided 3 sets silicone tips. Not much to complaint with selling price of USD 50 for 16 driver IEM.

CA16 is the classic design of many current offering in the market and personally imho it's boring especially with Black colour only either with mic or no mic. The housing is pretty thick compared to KZ - for those with small ear - beware !

Evaluation of CCA CA16 with the following :-

- Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 phone
- Shanling Mo DAp
- AK Jr DAP
- Cayin N3 DAP
- Fiio E12 Amp

Bass:

CA16 really makes an impression with me considering that I'm a treble head but the low end has good punchy bass texture. Imho sub bass is the scene stealer with good deep impact and never overshadowing mid bass and never over powering or too boomy. Good balance between low mid and sub bass and each blend seamlessly like the perfect house guest that never overstay its welcome..

Mids:

Mids are slightly recessed with bass being the dominant factor which makes the vocal wee bit laid back especially male vocal but less with female . Tested with the song " Fever" version by Peggy Lee and Elvis Presley - definitely vocal sound better with female voice . With more complicated tracks , it really show but still good enough with good imaging, separation and layering to stand toe to toe and doesn't seem out of place.

Treble:

Fear not for those who detest sibblance or fatiguing high as CA16 really does well with good details with enough sparkle to complement without feeling being left out. It can be better but imho it will appeal to wide spectrum of listeners whereby its a relaxed sound signature .

Soundstage:

Decent soundstage but more width with depth & height lacking . Imho this could be improved ( more air and less congested) considering the amount of drivers but overall has decent separation, imaging and positioning.

Conclusion:

Have no regret with purchasing CA16 considering the price paid for 16 drivers and happy with relaxed musical tuning. It actually does well with good balance of clarity and details with my favorite part of this tuning where the bass really shines coming from a treble head like me.

Solid Entry Level IEM
Pros: Good soundstage - Sub bass done right - Above average details and clarity
Cons: Reccessed mid - Vocal seem distant - treble timbre seem unreal
Pros:

Pricing to performance ratio
Good huge soundstage
Design wise comfortable.
Above average details and imaging
Sub bass done right - good for bass centric genre

Cons:

Artificial tone/timbre for guitar and instruments
Vocal and mids reccessed
Treble wee bit energetic or shrill especially when when not much bass in music
Cable but for the price - it's acceptable

Today I will be reviewing latest budget offering by KBear KS2 (1BA + 1Dynamic) which is priced at USD21 bought from AK Audio Store from Aliexpress .

9. Driver unit : 1BA+1DD hybrid driver unit

Accessories

1. 3x Pairs of Silicone Ear Tips
2. 1X Single Crystal Cooper Cable

BUILD & DESIGN

Let me just say right off the bat that by saying the packaging is basic and accessories are the bare minimum with IEM -Cable and 3 sizes of silicone tips with no IEM casse or pouch. Its a simple sliding paper box and as for me no complaint knowing that the selling price is less than USD22 where majority of the real cost goes to the making of the KBear KS2 IEM itself which kept the cost low for the purchase price.

As for the design of KS2 - its quite generic to current trend like KZ with good quality plastic resin finishing with decent cable slightly better than similar price KZ offerings. The size and fitting is good imho and also weight wise is light and comfort factor is good.

Evaluation of KS2 with the following :-

- Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 phone
- Shanling Mo DAp
- AK Jr DAP
- Cayin N3 DAP
- Fiio E12 Amp

Bass:

Bass has good punch and decay with sub bass taking center stage and to me tuned just right without being overtly boomy. I'm not a bass head but rather a treble head and loves clarity and details. The overall bass is surprisingly tastefully tuned and does not bleed into the midrange or vocal and also complement with the slightly energetic treble . The only suggestion that I would recommend is that to swap the eartips to foam type and it sound better whereby the bass sounds fuller and tame the shrillness in the high.

Mids:

Vocals is clear but a wee bit recessed which makes the singer sounds distant . The end result makes the vocal sound little bit airy or thin but clarity is good. Overall the presentation is acceptable with huge soundstage and imaging.

Treble:

Treble head like me loves me some good high and it does not disappoint me and has some good energy/sounds lively. It has good amount of details and clarity but on certain instrument like guitars and horn instruments are not what I'm used to . The timbre or tone of these especially in the lower treble comes with shrillness and the instrument sounds bit sharp or thin especially guitar.

Conclusion

Seeing its a entry budget level and for the price of USD22 - its a good offering for people wanting to try start out in the Chi Fi crowded market and used it as starting point to this amazing world of IEM . Its a good everyday beater to put into the backpack and coupled with its wide soundstage and V shaped sound signature - it would be a good IEM for EDM or bass centric music and imho it would be a good IEM for movies or surfing down the rabbit hole of YouTube

Box 2.jpg

Accs .jpg

BUILD & DESIGN

CVJ CSN comes in a glossy brownish hard paper box which is kinda cool looking with the specifications listed back of the box but the silver fonts is really small which is hard to read imho with the reflections. Accessories as listed above and pretty standard fare for In Ear Monitor.

The shape of the IEM is really comfortable with no sharp or rough edges and according to their specifications made of aluminium and magnesium synthetic metal. Two colour are available which are Blue and Black - I bought the Blue variant and it has a purple tint to the blue. Long session with this CVJ CSN is a blessing with no comfort issue or its just my ear shape that is suited to it!

The cable supplied with the CVJ CSN is single crystal cooper cable with ear loop with 2 pin connector. The cable is soft and nice but its a Miss Curl cause its easily tangle reason being of the ear loop and soft texture of the whole cable.

Initial Testing

First listen with phone Xiaomi MI MIx 2 was impressive with good clarity and separation. Bass was a bit thin sounding right out of the box with stock ear tip but overall it’s the kind of sound signature that I prefer. Depth perception of CSN is freaking impressive with more than average wide soundstage. Overall its a very good sounding IEM whereby each musical instrument is clearly defined and positional wise is spot on! Tested with Soul Bossa Nova - Quincy Jones and Master of Puppets - Mettallica - I kid you not! Try it out! Also vocal aspect is a delight where they are in line with the instrumentation and does not come across overwhelmed and its a star on its own. Its quite a close impression of Havi B3 Pro 1 but only lose out on wider soundstage but the clarity, details retrieval, depth is amazing and easier to drive which Havi is a hard nut to drive for those who know what I’m talking about.

The next few days further testing and running them in with no critical listening - just enjoying them with my phone.

Sound Signature with Shanling M0 DAP with high gain

Its not that I am hard core proponent of burning in but in this case highly recommended - the bass is more impactful and the initial splashy treble has mellow out a bit and according to the gibberish instruction manual with term like Shu Jin and martial arts burn in (LOL) - recommended to burn-in. Details retrieval is excellent with a tinge of forward midrange well executed.

Dedicated DAP player makes a difference compared to my smart phone which is not a good audio indicator but nowadays you can’t go on dailty life without it ! Right ?

Tested with Shanling M0 after few days of burning - the improvement was much more coherent sounding overall presentation where the Bass is much fuller with better impact and definition but not overbearing. I really like how the bass turn out ! Also its more balanced sounding between the bass midrange and treble and as I have mentioned above - vocal is a delight. It really feels like watching a live band with the positional spot on !

Further tested with a Fiio E12 strap on to the mighty Shanling M0 player really bring out another dimension to what this CVJ CSN can do - power bring even better control overall musicality.

Suggestions

- Burn In recommended

- Change to a better cable - tested with a 8 core pure silver cable = must do !

- Ear tip swap - different sound can be achieved - more bass or treble oriented

- Sound better with high gain with DAP or even better with amplifier

Conclusion

I’m amazed with CVJ CSN because of its versatility in term of sound with cable change, ear tip change and how much improvement with an amplifier really makes this IEM shines brightly.

5 Stars rating based on price paid and the performance level and technical ability. Impressed is the WORD!

General Information

It's been a long time since my last review and today will be reviewing Kinera YH623 TWS IEM. Bought this YH623 TWS IEM because most of my bluetooth IEM have gone to audio heaven for reason such as dead battery and wiring problem !

What better way to head straight on to Bluetooth connectivity without the hassle of cable restricting movement and the latest fad of TWS IEM . Also partly because of my new initiative to get fit again by getting KInera YH623 which I have tested while exercising and its such a boon to use it without the hassle of getting wire snag or adjusting the earpiece. Its amazing how technology has progressed from the first Walkman in 1979 to smartphone that does everything especially with the addition of TWS IEM.

Here are some info of KInera YH623 :-

BT Chip: Qualcomm QCC3020

Bluetooth Version: 5.0 + EDR / BLE

Bluetooth Protocol: HSP/HFP/A2DP/AVRCP/SPP/DI/AVCTP

Noise Reduction Method: CVC8.0 NC

Earphone Charging Time: approximately 1h

Battery Case Charging Time: DC5V – approximately 1.5h

Standby Time: approximately 300 hours

Earphone Battery Capacity: 50 mAh

Charging Case Battery Capacity: 400 mAh

Effective Distance: more than 10 meters

Driver Unit Type: Single 6mm Dynamic

Sensitivity: 110dB

Impedance: 16 ohms

Freq. Response Range: 20-20khz

Accessories

USB-A – USB-C charging cable

3x Pairs of Silicone Ear Tips

Instruction Manual

IMG_0776-2.jpg

IMG_0849-1.jpg

So much for picture and let's move on with some aspect KINERA YH623 :-

BUILD & DESIGN

The packaging comes with hexagon box with all the specifications features listed on the front of the box.Accessories wise as listed above are standard fare as most TWS manufacturer will supplied - not much to complaint about.

The charging case is compact friendly and will easily fit into any pocket which has battery rating of 400mAh which will recharge the IEM for 3 cycle of roughly 5 hr of usage each cycle. Personally I'm very happy with the battery capacity and the ease of the automatic charging when the IEM is put back into the charging case every time. The only downside is there is no indicator as to the battery life on the charging case. Also the only way to ensure that the IEM is charging is to open the case to see the LED indicator on the outer face of YH623 is red while green means IEM fully charged. Its time to charge the charging box when the IEM is not charging - simple!

Design-wise tick my preference as it fits perfectly and also no adjustment needed once inserted . The metallic blue color or purplish is also very eye catching imo as compared to the pink option. Honestly I really like the finishing and shape of YH623. Its made of some sort plastic resin and there is a LED indicator on the front of plate to show whether the IEM pairing mode function is on.

The YH623 also has the ability to auto-pair with your phone as soon as they are taken out from the charging box. Touch control is located front face plate and need some getting used to its function as its touch sensitive which have led to many instances of accidentally stop playback or activated Google VoiceAssistant on my Android phone. Bluetooth connectivity is also a breeze and will automatically connect once initial pairing done the first time.

Sound Signature (based on Xioami MI MIx 2) - 2 stars rating

The sound design team of YH623 is clearly run by a BASSHEAD ! Quality audiophile aficionado need to look elsewhere for detailed sound or clarity. Its definitely throwback to my younger days affinity for exciting thumping music. Designed specifically for one who loves bass very much and those who can't take detailed high or those prefer warmish tone where the BASS is NUMERO UNO! In short bass is full of gusto and quite boomy for my taste.

Make no mistake this YH623 has power in term of energetic bass rumble and hit hards to the core of the soul where the vocal comes second in term of presentation. The soundstage is quite average where the positioning and placement of instrument is not precise.

The mid and vocal is recessive and personally I feel this IEM will cater specific music genre especially EDM or House music lovers. Treble detail and extension also play second fiddle to the overall musicality of the sound because the master of the house is Lord BASS .

Sound Signature ( based on dedicate DAP player Cayin N3 & Shanling M0) - 3,5 star

Initial impression was KInera YH623 was too bassy for my preference but after further testing with dedicated DAP player like Cayin N3 & Shanling M0, sound-wise has taken a turn for better.

The bass rumble decreased significantly and also the mid tonality also sound more in line with bass as compared with pairing with YH623 with my smartphone.

Treble also improved where the extension and details sound more coherent and forward whereby making it sound more airy vs my smartphone pairing.

FYI - also using the smallest IEM tips which I don’t normally use because in normal circumstances will use the largest size but the size of the stem for YH623 is really short and the shape of the IEM is a perfect fit and with no adjustment needed.

Conclusion

Bass centric TWS IEM and music genre specific! Though its not my prefer sound signature but I always say to myself - " just gotta find right hat for my head and not the other way around where the hat don't fit the head "

The sound signature is totally different when tested with the phone but the jump of sound quality is so much better with dedicated DAP player! It went from mistress to wife material ! LOL

My 2 cent suggestion is if you are a basshead - then its the right TWS IEM for you ! If you want something more balanced then further testing with other music player and ear tip will change the sound signature which imo - big change in sound!

Packaging
Brainwavz M100 was sent to me without retail box packaging and its a review unit with all the included accessories as in retail version. Brainwavz is always excellent in term of accessories especially the excellent hard case coupled with their selection of tips, comply foam , cable tie and shirt clip which is better than some pricier IEM.
Built Quality

- Design of the IEM shell is quite generic looking imho but fitting is excellent for me
- Black metal with Brainwavz logo with L and R white indicator which is always welcome in my book.
- Cable is an improvement imho compared to earlier Brainwavz models and the twisted and rubber coated
- Chin slider above the Y splitter  ( however its pretty hard to slide then up ..lol )
- Three button remote control for Android and Apple devices
Overall the build quality is excellent and very sturdy imho which is expected as always from Brainwavz products.

Fiio E12
Sound
Did burnt in as suggested by Brainwavz for 150 hrs and imho not much changes.
Bass
M100 is very bass oriented and boomy imho. The sub bass is too dominant for my taste and really dig real deep which in turn bleeds into the mid range. The over powering bass frequency does muffled the overall of this IEM and concur with the few reviews of this particular IEM as stated by @HiFiChris as "playing behind a very thick blanket". Test track used by Bruce Hornsby & The Range - The Way It Is and Mandolin Rain where the glorious piano tinkling sound very boomy and overbearing with the sub bass racing through the whole track with vocal sounding muffled and singing through a towel .
Mid
First off the midrange is very much influenced by the bass and sub bass bleeding very much especially vocal and sounding very thick and makes it sound very slow . Test track with Norah Jones " Don't Know Why" and the double bass is very much in your face where the vocal sounding very strained where this track is more of her ethereal voice but not so in this case. The separation and clarity is clouded by the boom of the track.
Treble
Treble is polite and good for those who wants IEM with no sibblance and sharp peaks. Micro details are very faint and reccessed imho and stays in the background which makes the treble playing very minor role in the tuning .
Soundstage
Average in term of height and depth and also not much separation/air mainly clouded by the bass bleed and rather veiled.

Conclusion:
This M100 is a "love it or hate it" kinda IEM and will appeal to those who are into bass/no high peaks or sibblance and loves this kind of signature. Unfortunately for me it is not my kind of sound signature and too dark for my liking. The asking price is wee bit high as what is available in the market nowadays with the influx of other Chinese brands flooding the market and even much cheaper offering by Brainwavz like M3 or Jive is better value for money in term of sound preference and value for money.

Design / Build:

BW S5 housings are made with complete metal housing with shiny polish finish with small vent on each side and flat cable design with strong Y split. With Brainwavz products, accessories are always in abundance and with a solid carry case. The jack connector is straight  which veer from its traditional 45 degree jack connector.

S5 is designed to be worn over ear but I personally don't find it comfortable or difficulty staying secured because of its wide flat cable - I personally wear it down and the fit is just awesome. Also there is no chin slider which I find reduces the microphonic especially when wearing down - just being nit picking.

In-line remote control made of matte black rubber which consist of three soft rubber buttons which imho are quite large but suitable for those without manual dexterity of using delicate and small buttons like me ..lol

Overall the built quality of BW S5 is rock solid as always from Brainwavz.

Sound

Will be using my Fiio M3 and Samsung SII using large stock grey tips  and they are easy to drive.

The sound signature is rather fun, engaging and good bass impact with some sibblance especially with some EDM tracks.

Bass:

Solid impact and certainly not to the level of basshead but present in suitable amount and sound delicious with good control especially with EDM or Hip Hop tracks. The bass do seem wee bit slow imho but do not bleed into the midrange and gives a good body and texture to the bass. Mid bass is emphasised and sub bass rumble is sufficient to not overshadow the rest of the frequency.

Mids:

The mids is my favourite part of S5 with its clear and intimate and imho quite a natural timbre especially on female vocals especially tracks from Everything But A Girl - Driving . The vocal is especially upfront giving the feeling she is singing to you and acoustic guitars sound so sweet and yet warm with slight emphasis on the upper mid range. The details is also decently potrayed over the bass impact so as to present a pretty balanced between bass mid and treble .

Treble:

The treble could be an issue to some as imho I find them bit wee metallic sounding and grainy where the sparkle is evident on songs and seem to forward. The lower treble could be remedy by eq or rolling tip and you are good to go . The extension is decent and could be better for some tracks but overall its not a problem if you are the type who listen at low volume but on high volume . the treble comes off too harsh for my ears. Comply tips are good for S5 inho as its greatly reduces the harshness but bear in mind its still there but really tame down the aggressiveness of the high.

Soundstage:

Soundstage is decent with good separation, imaging and intimate in head. Its not gonna wow you with wide soundstage but stereo imaging with details is fun to listen with and for the price ..its an excellent choice with the price and built quality to boot.

Conclusion

Its a competent sub USD100 IEM and fun to listen.
Easy to drive with portable device and not power hungry.
Soild all rounder with excellent built quality .

Thank you for reading.

Sound

Bluetooth On

The bass is nicely done imho for my listening preference and it is not overpowering and dig quite deep but detailed and punchy. But it will not meet expectation of lover of heavy bass and those who required thumping sensation in their sound but did noticed some distortion for some heavy bass song from me collection old skool hip hop song and certain EDM tracks.

Personally like the vocal and mid presentation in ANC7 and to me they are quite forward which how me like my sound preference. They sound good on my prefer genre which is mainly blues and some old skool Nina Simone glorious piano tinkling and her vocal sound rich and sweet honey to me ears...

0.jpg

Treble quality is decent with enough detail and clarity with some nice sparkle enough to satisfy the treble head in me  -YMMV. Did pass it to a friend for a try and he said its quite bright and did not like it at all .....can't blame him cuz his prefer weapon of choice is Beats ....LOL.

Overall I find ANC7 with Bluetooth mode very enjoyable that I will regularly use as it offer the sound signature that is pleasing with well balanced sound with the right amount of bass that is not show stopper and really sound quite musical without sounding dry.  All in all very relaxed and good for long listening session.

Active Noise Cancelling On

When i first turn on the ANC feature - it gives me the sensation of being in a cave without the echo or feedback but when I tried them in a supermarket where its a noisy environment ......it makes me appreciate the noise cancelling function !

But when its on - the mid become veiled and sounds distant but the bass monster do come out to play. The bass has more thump and sub bass rumble is in spades and very nicely done without sounding muddy or bloated. Though me am not a fan of this sound signature , its a trade off from the noise or loud distraction from enjoying music , did a test with a friend talking very loudly in front of me (about a feet away from me) and it works very well and can imho cut off about 80% of the ding from the outside world and can only hear slight hum and can never really figure out what he was talking about unless one try very hard to read lips - which is me next lesson in my Shaolin training after current lesson on invisibility is completed...LOL

Must Buy Factor

  1. Comfort factor is A+  and it doesn't matter how good the headphone sound if its not comfortable.
  2. One headphone do it all - bluetooth, ANC and cable when the batterry run out.
  3. Good bluetooth connection
  4. Quality sound signature
  5. Value for money for buyer who are looking for exceptionally versatile usage and most of all - NOT A HOARDER

and still say " I HAVE NO HEADPHONE TO WEAR"

Radio-1-DJ-Greg-James-010.jpg
  1. WHY NOT ! - if you are a hoarder !

Conclusion

ANC7 is one multi purpose headphone I will have no reservation to recommend to friends who are interested in getting a new headphone.

Cool design with black carbon fibre with touch of red .

Excellent travel case

Thank you for reading.

Built Quality, Design & Functionality

As in my previous review posted 3 weeks ago - Brainwavz Truss ( Under Desk Dual Headphone Hanger) - Wokei's Brainwavz Truss Review  - copy and pasted that review !

Material is all ALL METAL and the built quality is numero uno with every details meticulously made with masterclass workmanship. Sleek looking and extremely durable.

In fact the design of Hooka is much improved design compared to BW Hengja ( also another Brainwavz HP hanger ) as Hooka has incorporated  raised hook at the end to prevent headphone from falling.

hengja__03_grande.jpg
Brainwavz Hengja - Hengja from Old Norse word " to hang"

WhatsApp-Image-2016051522.jpg

WhatsApp-Image-2016051525.jpg

WhatsApp-Image-2016051526.jpg

IMHO ...much improved design from Hengja with the raised hook but would much prefer the clamp design of the Brainwavz Hengja as over time - the 3M stick tape might lose grip and messy residue .
Also if the clamp design is used for Hooka .....it could be easily removed and move to other location without much effort ....trying very hard not to laugh and fighting against my will to add some in innuendo ....muahahahaaaaaaaaaa !

 Installation instruction :

  1. Location ..location ..location - find a good spot to stick the Hooka

XCedzUh.gif

  1. Mark the spot outline with pencil and make sure the its the right spot ....removal is not an option

1aPjj.gif

  1. Press the Hooka in pencil drawn outline and applied some pressure and count 1 to 4  or more .......fill in the blanks if one so wishes !

Conclusion

Excellent products.
No more messy clutter on desk.
Easy to install - see instructions above

  3. Built quality is excellent and short flat cable with inline control mic

It has been a very enlightening and life changing experience since using BLU-200 for these simple reasons below :-

  1. decided to make full use of very functional bluetooth BLU-200 and start exercising again but made playlist of me favourite songs to provide stimulus for me workout but sad to say - it never went pass the 5th song and took me few days to recover from the body ache ....LOL
ReQmk_s-200x150.gif

  1. at a very young age auditioned for the school choir and was told to never attempt to sing at all but perseverance paid off when me managed to join the church choir but was told to just move me mouth and pretend to sing and always put at the back row. Lesson for the day ..NEVER GIVE UP...AWKWARD....ROCK ON

 eyeoftiger.gif
awkard.gif

queenbee.gif

  1. was driving one day with BLU-200 on and was singing loudly to the song " Sex on Fire - King of Leon" and at the traffic light stop - this old lady say to me " Happy huh? " . Music is such a powerful force and who cares if you are not the best singer but it makes you feel that you are on top of the world . Start from 1.28 into the video and this is how me feel ..LOL

0.jpg

Sound

FYI - BLU-200 is not for critical listening and imho tuned for active lifestyle usage like working out or doing chores with no wires restricting movement .

Bass

The bass is impactful, smack of power (imho basshead level) and should be right at home for its intended purpose especially going to the gym with punchy deep bass genre of songs. It work very well for me during my failed attempt at working out but the bass is not the tightest and wee bit slow on fast complicated tracks. Warm/bassy and sub bass can be overpowering and bleed into the mid which affect the mid especially the vocal and clarity.

Mid

Recessed due to thumping bass and sub bass bleeding into the mid and could do with more forward sonic quality especially the vocal part. Music just feel bit withdrawn and distance but me supposed its's too V shaped for me taste.

Treble

Treble quality is just enough to make it bearable for me but lack sparkle and shine -YMMV. Would be very good to those who are sensitive to high and no sibilance at all. All in all very relaxed and good for long listening session.

Redeeming Factor

  1. Respond well to EQ - in my case V4A in my Samsung SII - sounding excellent when used with chosen Listening Device (Grado SR80)
  2. Good bluetooth connection
  3. Relaxed sound signature
  4. Value for money
  5. WHY NOT !

Conclusion

It never warm up to me with its stock sound signature and finding the right ear tip took me a few good days but at the end if the day ---would highly recommend this BLU-200 for those looking for affordable bluetooth IEM. EQ is a must and with V4A on my phone has transformed it into my go-to daily IEM which can be used for music and calls purposes with really decent sound quality to boost. My only criticism is the housing barrel is wee too big and future Brainwavz bluetooth IEM would make the housing more ear friendly.

Thank you for reading.

Thank you very much to Brainwavz and Pandora for providing me with Truss dual headphone hanger for review

Interesting Fact about the name Truss

Truss derives from the Old French word trousse, from around 1200, which means "collection of things bound together".The term truss has often been used to describe any assembly of members such as a cruck frame or couple of rafters but often means the engineering sense of "A truss is a single plane framework of individual structural member connected at their ends of forms a series of triangle to span a large distance."

IMHO - suitable name for a headphone hanger and not a made up name - source from Wikipedia Truss

Packaging

The Truss comes in very compact plastic packaging showcasing the item very well. Tastefully done and look more expensive than the price it is selling for.

2) Clean the surface and make sure the placement is correct before peeling the protective layer of the 3M tape. The tape is thick and look like it will last and will take some effort to peel them off. Best to use a pencil to draw the outline of the tape before sticking.

3) Press the Truss in pencil drawn outline and applied some pressure and count 1 to 4 or to 100 if you really have nothing to do and want to kill time - take your hand off and its done.

TTPOD T1E Review

Background

Be using me Fiio X3 for this review ......fosho' this purple jet pack is one sexy lookin' IEM .....housing is big but could be a problem for some with the fitting ....can be worn down or over the ears though me prefer down ....me always do ..ahem ......HUGE they are but its actually quite comfy for me and insertion is shallow and good for long listening session.....guaranteed to make you break out and do some nasty move fosho' ....me sure did ....muahahahahahahahahaaa

Right out of the gate .....me gotta say ...its a must have for those who already owned Havi ...as it will compliment on your iem signature collection ....with Havi being more technical vs T1E fun factor without sacrificing too much on detail and clarity ....damm good buy for under USD50 or less.

Sound

Dual dynamic driver is excellent on these babies .....awesome bass performance ...the show stopper and main attraction .....quality bass texture  but not overblown with good attack , impact is very engaging with good speed, aggressive and in your face presentation while the sub bass is imho tonally right with incredible extension that don't bleed into mid ...." MUSICAL " and "FUN". Put it this way ......if you have Havi ..this is the type of girl you bring home to meet the parents ....type your parents will approve

2014-09-0511.39.15.jpg

BUT with T1E .....its the kind of girl you wanna bring to the club and partaaaaaaaaaaaay .....and you know you gonna have a good time

The  mid is lush and forward ...giving it a very smooth, warm and very musical sound .....with good details......damm the electric guitar sounds good with BITE ....together with the sweet bass ...its a knock out punch combination

Treble is clear though not extended as me would like ......but they do shimmer n sizzle with the right dose standing head to head with the bass and the mid ....not overly bright ....very smooth and more forgiving when the music gets busy ....very ideal in the whole sound signature ....." SIZZLE" ...they do

Sound-stage is above average with depth and width ..isolation is good imho .....have to get the right seal and fit ...details are also good considering the bass is the scene stealer here ...

Conclusion ....if you are not a bass head but do enjoy "thump" in your sound or you be bass head but do enjoy some detail, clarity and good lush mid ....its a good iem to get with copious amount of good fun quality bass that me think will satisfy many ...without limiting your choice of music genre by getting a bass head iem or neutralish iem...

Hope you enjoy the review ...here are some image that most aptly describes T1E in me head ..." FUN"  ....not for children !

Those who click ....dissapointed in you guys ...muahahahahahaaaaaa...you thought there would be more pics of beautiful girls ....Wokei delivers ! Boom

Havi B3 Pro 1 - Pictorial Review

Let me start by saying that ......the purchase of B3Pro1 has been long time coming ever since introduced by bhazard in the Chinese thread early last year (2013) and later its own Havi thread by Baycode. Recognition and respect to both guys for introducing Havi B3Pro1 to the headfi community.

When it was introduced at that time ...me still resisted buying for the simple fact ....that this B3Pro1 need an amp to shine ....at that point of time ...only had my 3 years old Blackberry phone and no amp so no buy B3Pro1.......

Been searching for an amp ever since ....last year June(Topping NX1) June(Little Bear B-2) and August(SMSL SAP-5s) ....with all that in place ..had to get ...must get with LMUE discount ....hell yeah about 51$ USD ....the wait and patience paid off.

For those following this thread ....please start from page one of this excellent thread started by Baycode ( http://www.head-fi.org/t/711582/havi-b3-pro-1-impressions-thread ) ....kudos to you man ....must read his review .....lots of details .......burn in time with detailed changes in sound .....in depth with excellent pictures and also autospy pic on how to dissect B3Pro1 ......LOL ......also other well written reviews by much more experienced headfi members.

For the price ...its a steal .....its a deal .....its a IEm that will achieved cult status someday ....me prediction .......for those still on the sideline ....give it a try ......if you appreciate audiophile sound with budget pricing .....you will know this baby oozes plenty of "YES" factor .

Me review will not be as detailed or meticulous of some of very learned headfiers have done for B3Pro1 but more of a pictorial review for the simpleton in me ...easy and fun .....not gonna touch of the packaging and the thousands of accessories that comes with Havi ...please refer to their previous reviews with excellent pictures.

Soundstage

Width and depth are the best me ever heard ....especially for a drum track used to test bass ....me can actually hear the drum beat travelling from the left to right with the precision of a heart surgeon .......LOL ......tooooo much ....I know .....but me don't care

3D imaging

The imaging of B3Pro1 is so 3D like which hard to explain ...you gotta have one in your ears to really get a feel ....maybe this will help visually....LOL

Clarity

Imho ...me feel they are good but ....TBH.....of cuz they are better one out there in the market but as a total package ....its a winner.

Details and Separation

Me don't own high end gears as most me stuffs circa around 50$ and most of them are less than....damm even me Topping NX1 is cheaper than B3PRo1........but its THE BEST of me IEM among my gears and could even better than some much higher price IEM me have demo or heard from friends ..with the exception of cuz there are better one out there. YMMV

Instrument and Vocal Placement

The amazing thing with B3Pro1 ......you can actually locate precisely where the instrument and vocal are coming from ......its so surreal as if you can see the band in your head and where each band members are at what position.

Warning ...AMPING EFFECT

Without Amp

Sound is lifeless with weak source player and without amp .....without soul .....Count Dracula without fang .... Batman with no Robin ....Green Hornet without Kato to save his ass ......Kim Kardashian without the ass!

With Amp

B3Pro1 is like giving a kid a bag of sugar and see them run wild .....kickin' and screamin' ......everything just comes forward and so alive .....it actually entices you to really pay attention to listen to the song and that moment doesn't go away. This does look good huh ...LOL

Thanks for reading ...FYI ..this review was written last August 2014 and to show my LOVE for Havi B3Pro1..........Wokei style!

Do you know the size of the earstems on these? I just got a pair and none of the included tips fit well. I saw some Westone STAR tips. They fit a 2.5mm step. I'm wondering if those would work. ... I see the Sony Hybrids you mention. Can't find the Senn's in large. ... Thanks!

Packaging & Accessories

The R3’s box packaging comes with clear plastic window that showcase the IEM and its cable. Kudos to Brainwavz for the generous accessories where you will find :-
- 1 x Comply T500 tips
- 6 Single-flange silicone tips (3 pairs gray & black)
- 1 x Single pair of bi-flange & Triple-flange tips
- 1 x ¼ inch adapter
- 1 x Hard Zip-Case(excellent and imho ...one of the best case)
- 1-year warranty card

Build & Design

The Brainwavz R3 VII is a dual dynamic barrel shaped with each driver from each end shooting into the 90 degree angle nozzle that is situated in the center of the barrel. Imho this has to be one of the funkiest design for an IEM. The material used are aliminium and very light weight considering the size of these baby. The design of this IEM are meant to be over ear design but for me ....rather wear them down because the cable can't seem to stay secure for me ..ymmv. The cables are exceptionally "super thick" from the Y-split down to 3.5mm 45 degree jack cable with good strain relief.
The cable from the Y-split up comes with cable cinch is slightly thinner but imho still thick and retain some memory kink though the quality is good .... my question is why the THICK cable ?
The design of R3 is by far one most funkiest design in the market ....dare to be different and somehow the design do work in term of sound for me.

Comfort & Fit

Fit issue could be a problem for some users as the barrel are huge as well as the nozzle tip and over-ear design. Initially could not get a good fit and keep falling out until some tip rolling and finally settled with JVC Spiral Dots. The cable cinch is good as they keep the microphonic noise to a minimum level but the downfall is the thick and heavy cable is quite troublesome for on the go use ...also tried many times over the ear but the cable does not seem to want to stay put because of the sheer size n weight . But the worst part is the cable that is simply too thick and heavy for an IEM. Personally they are more suitable for home use ...ymmv.

Sound

Equipment Used --- Fiio X5 and FLAC and high bit-rate MP3 files. The R3’s were also burned-in over 100hrs before review.

Bass
Very controlled, accurate and not over powering. The low fequency has fairly good extension with sub bass with the right amount of rumble to match with the overall sound. Also liking very much the texture and not too thin or thick sounding.
Guess what I'm saying ...bass is not bloated though for fast paced music ..prat(bit slow) might not be its strong quality but the word "smooth" does come to mind ....laid back but still punchy and musical to match the overall sound of R3. Basshead need not apply here.

Mids
The shining star of R3 imho .....slightly mid forward but "smooth" and  really good for long listening session. The words that comes to mind are creamy and lush especially the vocal ie. not "in your face" and not fatiguing though the details retrieval and clarity do lack a bit.

Treble
Highs extends decently and very polite with right amount of crispness that will really appeal to people who are sensitive to sibbilant or sharp peaky treble. Overall the presentation is "smooth" with decent clarity and retrieval which goes well with even the most aggresive music or recording. Though for my taste ..the clarity could be better which to me makes the treble sounds a bit dull and lack the sparkle in overall sound.

Summary

Very easy to like .....balanced sound across the spectrum ....the bass, mid and treble don't stand out or over shadow but the cohesion of it all ......very smooth sound which will appeal to someone that is looking for all rounder IEM for variety of music genre. No pictures are in this review cuz for the life of me ....no skills in that department and previous review have ample photos to showcase this milk bottle.
FYI....these R3 are bought and not given as free sample in exchange for my honest review.

@Wokei great review! i feel the exact same way! the r3s would easily survive a trip to the gym (those cables are tough!). it would probably work for lifting weights but will fall out when i do any sort of vigorous movement. I did think the bass was just a shade slow, but its smooth without sounding overly warm or bloated down there!
