My review of the Jays a-Jays

I just saw that the a-JAYS are a bit cheaper than I got the impression of, so I've changed my summary to "good for the price". Also made a few clarifications on the sound quality part. They are still a bit bass heavy for my taste, though.

My review of the Jays a-Jays

I haven't heard much of the sparkly highs you are talking about, but as I said in my review, I find them decent or even good for the price. Very good is definitely overstating it in my book, but I guess we can just agree to disagree here. I hope that the people who have bought them are happy...

My review of the Jays a-Jays

I've had them burning in for at least 20 hours, so I strongly doubt that it's due to that. There might have been a slight improvement over the hours, but I still wouldn't say that the phones are neutral or especially remarkable in sound quality. It could just be that we prefer a different sound...

My review of the Jays a-Jays

Here's my review of the a-JAYS two.    First, to start off with, the packaging is very nice. It's sturdy and stylish and definitely gives a good impression.              The accessories include an airplane adapter, a splitter and a variety of different sized sleeves. I...

    New from Jays - a-Jays

Just unpacked them. Here are a couple of initial pictures. I'm waiting for my new camera, so picture quality isn't optimal.     The packaging is quite nice. It feels sturdy without being too bulky. But I guess that with headphones this size, it's still too big to use as a travel case...

    New from Jays - a-Jays

I just received a pair of a-Jays Two from Jays for testing, so I'll be posting some impressions over the next couple of days here. Stay tuned!

Ok, hooking the phones up to my Denon mono blocks turned out to be pretty hard. The wire was from the pig tail was simply too thin, and the terminals couldn't get a grip. Shame I had to cut the pigtail open a bit to get the wires to spread enough for them to reach between the amps. Only cosmetic...

Tack! Det var faktiskt i samma stad som du bor som de fanns, det var Musikbörsen som hade ett par över. (I told Deftoned that they are from the same town where he lives). I'm not sure if there's any need to actually prove that I got them for 2000 sek, even though I could take a picture of...

Yes, $999 before they were discontinued. I think that a pair in this condition could fetch up to $1600, with a bit of luck. So, my bargain meter went high when I saw them.

I got this package.. [modem killer]

Something I've been looking for quite a while showed up last week on a Swedish site where musicians sell and buy stuff. Considering what it was that I was going to buy, I was certain that it would be from some person. However, this ad was from a well respected company. The ad said something...

    Head-Fi Younguns Check-in!

I'm 21 and I've been around a few years already, currently using K701s, Stax Lambdas and AKG HSC-271 (headset derived from K271s), and I've had quite a lot more phones along the way. You do the totaling, I don't want to think about it.

To trade or not to trade? Stax Lambda for HD600.

Yeah, I'll go through with the trade. Where can the headband be bought, audiocubes?

To trade or not to trade? Stax Lambda for HD600.

Yeah, I figure I'll make the trade. they make for a nice thing to rest the eyes on atleast, and will fit excellently in my vintage setup with a Sony TA-8650 Vfet amp, which I would certainly claim to be a decent amp.

To trade or not to trade? Stax Lambda for HD600.

So, I traded away my K601's for a pair of HD600's the other day, and while the HD600's might be fine phones, they aren't much for me. I really didn't think they could compete with my K701's so I doubt they will get much use in my home. I've gotten a hold of a guy in Sweden that has a pair of...

My take on the K701 and comfort of headphones

I've worn my K601 and K701 (one at a time though) for 6-8 hours without any discomfort what so ever, they are without a doubt the most comfortable cans I've ever tried, with reservation for the fact that beyerdynamic isn't in that group. I have a fairly large head, 7 3/4 or above that (62 cm).

    Defect on my K701????

Mine has it on both sides, serial 39xx. It's there on my K601:s too, but not as clear.

    Philips SBC-HP1000 appreciation

I haven't tried SR60 or KSC75, but they are to my ears more detailed and refined than for example MS-1, which isn't strange, since they are rock-ish.

    AKG K27i Review

I also have K27i, they are fairly nice little cans. They feel a bit like they might break, but has worked so far for me. The sound is better than decent, and the isolation isn't all bad, so I agree with you on this one Malfunkt.

Better for Gaming Purposes ONLY? Open or Closed?

I tend to prefer an open headphone, but the HSC-271 which I currently game with is closed, the K701 isn't half bad though.

    Philips SBC-HP1000 appreciation

They certainly aren't all bad, actually really good as far as treble goes. They aren't bad for vocals either, but the bass leaves one wanting a bit more. I've had a pair for a few years now, got them right after they came out, have had to switch them out for a new pair several times, the...
