Cheap 24 V power supply in and around Germany
i bought one of these, too. really surprisingly well made. i agree with lini, that this one seems to be made by ANSMANN. again: adjustment of the proper voltage needs a voltage-meter/dmm. the adjutment wheel on the backside covers a sort of rotary switch that gives me 5 steps from 13,5-25,8v... -
Modding a Go-Vibe
1. yes, it's possible to use a single->dual opamp adapter (browndog eg). be careful to choose the right one (there are versions for soic and dip - most likely you'll need dip). tangent sells some adapters. note: opa 637 needs at least gain 6, better gain 8 to work flawless. opa 627 (being unity...- BrokenEnglish

Which way to install the op-amp?
you'd find all the infos on the go-vibe hp: http://members.shaw.ca/storage_2/hea...eplacement.htm /edit: i'd recommend to give your new amp some time to burn in, before you change the opamp. at least those electrolytic caps inside need some time (50-150h), to let the ics shine in their best...- BrokenEnglish

Discrete PPA Diamond Buffer - Alternative DIY Take :)
while fiddling around with the rail capacitance of my ppa 1.0b i also began bypassing c4 and c5 with small ceramics and fkps. the sound was quite nice until i decided to try this also with c2. after some strange experiences with my ongoing moddings of the wna rails i developed some sort of...- BrokenEnglish

Which PPA to Build ???
as far as i know, glassman has still some of his diamond buffers on stock. they should be cheaper than the intersil-buffers, too. on the other hand, from what i've heard, building the ppa v2 could save you a few bucks in comparison to the ppa v1 + gm 2nd gen buffers. there are only a few...- BrokenEnglish

possibly upgrading from Pimeta - where to go from here?
what is going on there, appar? every day a couple of new threads, where you consider different new amps or cans. give it another 14 days and you will end spending your money for holidays to relax from thinking things over and over again (instead of cans or amps).... seriously... as far as i...- BrokenEnglish

effect of "upping the gain" on an amp?
with the dt880 and hd650 i'm using gain 6 in all my amps. using the emu 0404 at 0dB as source, it allows me to listen to most of my music at 9-10 o'clock. some classical pieces need 12-1 pm. to rock around sometimes 2... but never more. so... that gain setting is pretty universal and leaves some...- BrokenEnglish

could "TREAD" LED pts drive a relay?
calculate the power dissipation: P = (Vin-Vout)*I = (24-9) * 0,1 = 1,5W thermal resistance is then: Rth = (Tmax - Tambient)/P = (125° - 50°)/1,5W = 50 K/W most likely that's too much for that little ic (check the datasheet), and things will get worse with increasing output voltage of your...- BrokenEnglish

What to excpect once Senns HD-650 Break in ?
let's use the comparative term "darker" instead, as suggested above - they'll stay darker than the dt880 for example... even after 400 hours... no need to argue against that. if your source and/or amp has a darker presentation itself (like my h/k amp for example), any differences will be...- BrokenEnglish

UltraSone Headphones...anyone?
if it is the folding-mechanism, you're after, you could also take a look (and listen!) at beyerdynamics dt660 (closed), dt440 and dt860 (both open). they use the same encasing as the ultrasone with the usual drawback of reduced wearing comfort (uhh... those pads are just a bit too thin and the...- BrokenEnglish

White Noise Audio Headamp problem
chris, i can see you fitted input- and output-caps while using ad8610. in case your source is dc-offset-free, i'd recommend to get rid of both input- and output caps... you'll be surprised about the hidden qualities of your amp, once the veil is lifted... /edit: if you plan to use the...- BrokenEnglish
