If you have low-volume music (eg, ambient), it's preferable to use monkey's audio @normal. You'll save 25-40mb of space per rip.

Headphone setting engages a type of crossfeed that's absolutely necessary for 3d games (without it you'll be hearing sounds out of only 1 speaker depending on the in-game direction). It's terrible for music listening. So set to headphones for games, 2 speaker for everything else.

Dont waste your time with ASIO for playback. Kernel streaming achieves the same benefits for playback without the CPU intensity. Foobar is a royal pain to customize but once done, it's an absolutely brilliant player. Though I wonder why people waste their system resources with its library...

The TBAA is a fantastic value. Unless you're jaded, you won't need an amp unless you have a very Ohm-hungry can.
