So I've got a summer job in Bothell for the summer as a legal intern (second year of law school), but I can't for the life of me find affordable housing in the Seattle area. Do any locals know of a way to find cheap (preferably in a safe neigborhood) housing for a few months?

No not really. A 1 bedroom apartment is over $1K a month and rooms are expensive.

Try to find some share house around university and college. I've heard some of my friends paid only $400 a month (in Bellevue), but don't expect the nice and large room.

Just stay out of Seattle, Bothell should be more affordable.
