Has anyone cut off the plug of the current cable to see if all 4 wire are available to add a balanced connector? or have the ground wires been merged higher up the cable and not able to be reused?- stellablues

I have these on order currently, and I tried them at Can-Jam this weekend. I would say I have normal ears and the headphones are 'slightly' too small for me. It might be the solder job at the plug end but definitely not on the cardas plugs end, those are clean and nice. When my neutrik plug comes I will rewire it more cleanly. Well it wasn't really about the money, it was more a matter of understanding exactly what was being mentioned as a good sounding option. The part number is AD843JN, correct? The issue is finding them in stock. Octopart shows everybody is out of stock.- stellablues

Sennheiser hd580 came in ups today
I have had my hd580s for about 7 years and I just started getting a rattle in the left driver. I upgraded the grills to 600 and removed all the foam from the front and back of the driver a few months ago but didn't hear this issue at that time.
