    Zune for $150

Completely legit, ordered quite a few things from them- they do one deal a day every day. Their shipping is the best part since it is always $5, regardless of size. In your case don't know if they ship international though.

    Rio Karma Satisfaction and Questions

Yeah, If you have the space, encode to flac, and then you can play around to your heart's content. Also, the main site got hacked by some @$$hole who the proceeded to start deleting posts/threads etc. Anyway, most of the members have migrated to http://www.riovolution.org good luck!

    Official K-81 DJ thread

I didn't have a chance to read through this entire thread, but I wanted to check on the size of these cans. I just bought a pair of k26p without reading any reviews first, and I'm agreeing with the boominess, plus they press too much on my ears. I am quite enthralled so far reading about the...

    FLAC the Best?

Yeah, I just got done with school last summer, and I'm very grateful that my parents helped out a lot with it. I still have quite a bit of student loans, but it could have been a lot worse.

    FLAC the Best?

wow, it's been a long time since I've posted on here hehe, and this thread just caught my eye....some interesting arguments back and forth, and since it's already on the verge of a car wreck I figured I'd toss my two cents in too. ;-) I see a couple different arguments going on that seem to...

Any players with ALL of these features?

Umm...since a lot of people seem misinformed.... If you can find one, the Rio Karma supports OGG, FLAC, MP3, and WMA out of the box and does gapless and crossfading for all formats right out of the box. It does require it's own software, but the software is quite intuitive, and not resource...

FREE software for nano MP3 transfer?

I'd like to find out too, my Mom got a Nano for Xmas, and iTunes has been a royal PITA. Also, are there any good free wma to mp3 converters that will do the conversion in batch? Normally I wouldn't transcode, but these are all audiobooks, so I don't think going from mono wma to mono mp3 is...

    Rio Karma or iRiver H120

Haven't played with the rockbox yet, but I still love my Karma; gapless and codec choices are quite good, while it may not support ALAC it does do FLAC (yes I know Rockbox does too), and it does all the formats gaplessly, has RioDJ which really is sweet, and one of the best OTF playlisting tools...

    Nice iPod Dock

I think in the case of most docks, a good set of multimedia speakers would sound as good or better. However, specifically with the Monitor Audios....that I would be surprised about.

    Nice iPod Dock

While I don't have an iPod, I must admit that this made me a little envious, http://www.i-deck.com/ It's made by Monitor Audio who make excellent excellent loudspeakers (my Dad has a set and they are absolutely phenomenal). I really would love a universal dock like this

    How is the Philips HDD082?

I briefly had the 1630 (bigger brother) for a few hours (before I got fed up and returned it), I found the software to be abysmal, the internal amp weak, and transfer speed to be slow. I replaced it with a Zen Micro Photo that I am much happier with. If you have an Ultimate Electronics near you...

Any good alternatives to Carbon 6GB for the price?

Ummm thanks for your input Chris...I actually have an original Karma that I have taken snowboarding for quite awhile...I'm not exactly concerned about the ZMP in the stationary cupholder on an Elliptical machine or while i'm sitting lifting weights....thanks for the concern though. If I were...

Any good alternatives to Carbon 6GB for the price?

Yeah, so I had a nice long talk with a Creative rep at Best Buy who told me the same thing that the problem had been fixed, and we had a nice long talk about DAPs in general (nice guy). Nonetheless I picked up a Philips 1630 from WallyWorld later that evening, and roughly 6 hours later I...

Any good alternatives to Carbon 6GB for the price?

My concern with the Micro is the battery and more importantly, the headphone jack. I don't know if something has been fixed, but externally it looks like nothing has changed much, and I have read far too many complaints of the headphone jack breaking on it. I have also been seriously eyeing...

Any good alternatives to Carbon 6GB for the price?

I can get a brand new Carbon 6GB for $150 w/shipping, as I understand it, all static issues were fixed, and the newest firmware supports Janus DRM. I already have a Karma that I love, but I am looking for something smaller to take to the gym, work, and probably snowboarding. I already take my...

Has anyone tried the Phillips HDD1630???

I saw this at Walmart the other day too and have been waiting to hear more information on it. Looking through the manual it looks like it can function as a drive in WindowsXP, Itchee can you confirm this? Also, if you have a non-XP computer, can you see if it works as an MSC device for music...

My mini review of the akg k14p.

how long is the cord? Just need to know if I should be ordering an extension cord too or not (going to be plugged into a computer sitting on the ground), so probably need 6'+ minimum

Yet another, 'help me find some headphones that meet my needs'

OK, on the comfort side, I have doing some more reading through some other threads, specifically, http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=125902 and my concern now is that the Senns may be too tight. I have a really large head 7 3/4 baseball hat. edit: reading around some more, I...

Yet another, 'help me find some headphones that meet my needs'

The environment is relatively quiet (one of the reasons I need something beyond the din of the keyboards ) I don't know if it is possible, but I would like them to not leak too much sound (even though there is distance from my coworkers), but at the same time I don't want them to be so...

Yet another, 'help me find some headphones that meet my needs'

Ok, so different questions, would I be better off investing in an amp to help drive the AKG K240 Monitors, or are some of these Sennheiser phones going to be significantly better? It was my understanding that the AKGs were good phones, just harder to drive. If the PX100s are on the darker...

Cool, btw, which Sandisk DAP do you have? I've been looking at the new Sansa m260 quite a bit, but haven't found any decent reviews of it.

Yet another, 'help me find some headphones that meet my needs'

Yeah, like many others before me, I'd appreciate some guidance on appropriate headphones. I am looking for some relatively cheap $75 or less (potentially more if you can really sell me on something bettr) headphones to use at work. Sound quality is marginally important, but not pertinent. My...

    Rio Karma - Gapless w --alt-preset standard mp3's

MP3 is inherently not a gapless standard as was previously pointed out above. However, the Karma does a great job of making it sound gapless to the point that you would never know the difference. Battery life, roughly: MP3: 15+ hours OGG: ~10 hours FLAC: ~11 hours

    Fanboyism

While this isn't directly related to DAPs (so mods feel free to move if you need to), I couldn't stop laughing at this because the 'tactics' are universal; hopefully, everyone can identify on some level with this article http://www.gamespot.com/features/6128136/p-18.html
