Seattle Red Hook Meet July 30, 2016 impressions
Just a few photos from the meet. Handsome stack of electronics. Spent some pleasant time with the Stax system which was representative of the best from electrostatics. Musiqboy's Rednet/Theta/Taboo kit was enthralling. Spent lots of time with it using familiar... -
Seattle Spring Meet at BottleHeadquarters 4/30/2016
Yup, just show up. Try the equipment,.with the permission of the owner. Not complicated. You'll enjoy the time spent with like minded folk. Buy gear when you're ready, then share it at meets as you please. We have been meeting quarterly. Don't see that changing soon.- curbfeeler

What's the best USB audio cable for the money?
@Mediahound Willful ignorance is not a substitute for experience or empirical exploration. A USB cable makes an audible difference. -

I bought the KEF M500 at the California Audio Show because the initial impressions were good, the build quality excellent and the offer of a special show price. Brought them to the meet sealed. Opened the box and gave them a listen at several stations. All good, even without a lot of time on them. -

Vienna/Austria Meet October 17th 2015 Impressions
Congratulations on a successful meet. In Seattle we have quarterly meets, sometimes in private facilities where we can enjoy alcoholic libations, other times in public venues where alcohol is verboten. Most often we organize an after-meet at a local pub or restaurant where we discuss our... -
The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
I can't speak to the bass performance, but what I heard of Joey Silverstein's performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons on Telarc yesterday was deliciously coherent and lifelike. I usually can't abide the rise in the upper strings evident from the HD800, but as modded and EQed at johnjen's the...- curbfeeler

Seattle Summer Redhook Meet 7/25/2015
Not to rain on the parade, but a Discwasher brush is a contaminant rather than an aid to cleaning a record. If enough vinyl is projected to be at the meet I might bring a KLAUDIO ultrasonic record cleaner. A better alternative to the Discwasher are the brushes and cleaning solutions from the...- curbfeeler
