How do you use & maintain your heaphones?
I'm sensing a lot of OCD here, you guys must freak out at the thought of other people listening to your cans! I just stick mine on my stand and wipe them down every now and then, otherwise I just enjoy listening to them and don't worry about dust too much.- j0shimi

The Age Old Question... Which Soundcard?
It's a shame you had problems as the Prelude is a fantastic card. I moved from the X-Fi Elite Pro to the Prelude and thankfully Auzentech are often releasing updated drivers, the latest making some very nice improvements.- j0shimi

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
The HD650 is a truly amazing headphone, I mostly use my via my PC Auzentech Prelude > Toslink > Headroom Balanced Desktop DAC > Equinox Balanced Cable with a couple of EQ tweaks and they blow me away every time. I went away on holiday for a couple of weeks and when I came back and listened to...- j0shimi

X-Fi SPDIF: Prelude vs. Titanium
Game Mode supports EAX 5.0 whereas Audio Creation Mode only supports up to EAX 3.0 You can look up the difference in EAX here: Environmental audio extensions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In Audio Creation mode's main panel you can set the option to Bit-Perfect. I still don't...- j0shimi

X-Fi SPDIF: Prelude vs. Titanium
That's strange because I get full EAX sound through my setup? X-Fi Prelude -> Toslink -> Headroom Balanced Desktop+DAC I'm not even using Dolby Digital Live but the effects are 100% there. I used to have an X-Fi Elite Pro and I am definitely getting the same effects I always have.- j0shimi

Westone 3 - You asked for it, we listened !
Shame on Westone, advertising the 3's and letting them slip further and further without a single word to the community. Terrible service. I have taken up Earphone Solutions offer on the SE530's, not the outcome I wanted but I've had enough waiting. To those who wait, good luck with your patience!- j0shimi

Auzentech Prelude - Microphone recording levels
My Prelude has a really low recording volume, It's a shame because otherwise the Prelude is amazing. I am currently using a Line 6 UX2 for recording (mostly guitar) but would much prefer my microphone to record directly into the soundcard.- j0shimi

What x-fi mode to use in games with HD600/HD650
skudmunky, if your not using any gaming features why not run it in Audio Creation with Bit-Matched playback? Your gaining nothing by running in game mode without EAX or CMSS-3D. When gaming I use Game Mode with EAX and CMSS-3D in headphone mode. CMSS-3D has much better positioning in...- j0shimi

HD580/HD6X0 defoaming impressions?
For me and my 650's it seemed bring out the bass a bit more, it had more of a punch to it, less muddy. I definitely prefer the sound I have now without the outer foam. I stretched some pantyhose material over the entire inner grill section and clamped it in to protect the driver from dust...- j0shimi

THE BRITS- WHAT A LOAD OF.....
I would not even bother watching The Brits whereas Eurovision is so bad that it's good, you can't take it seriously although I'm sure many countries do. You also have to laugh at how the votes go, you can see a lot of political ties through Eurovisions votes- j0shimi

AKG K701 vs Sennheiser HD650
I have been using my 650's with an Equinox single ended cable and Gilmore Lite w/DPS. I've enjoyed this setup for a while now but have recently purchased the HeadRoom Balanced Desktop w/Home DAC with an Equinox Balanced Cable, it arrived last Friday and I can't believe the change in sound...- j0shimi

ASIO On X-Fi Prelude Not Working..
When I connect my Headroom Balanced Desktop with DAC via Toslink it works perfectly fine but my Preludes Audio Console SPDIF/IO and Digital Out Sampling Rates are greyed out. Re-foaming HD650s
I fully agree with kool bubba ice, I noticed an immediate improvement on bass. I have had the foam pads out for years with a bit of pantyhose to protect the driver but recently put the pads in and tried the coin mod. Right now I'm not sure if I prefer them with or without?- j0shimi

Yeah the Prelude is great, I used to have the X-Fi Elite Pro but upgraded to the Prelude. The improvement is subtle but it's definitely there, the bass had the biggest improvement I noticed.- j0shimi

Dont say that!! I've spent enough already, my girlfriends birthday is coming up plus I will taking her out for valentines. My wallet hurts enough already! In fact I bet it comes on Valentines, I'll be out with HER whiles my true love will be sitting alone at home in a stinking FedEx box!- j0shimi

Thanks, I'll check it out that Winamp DLL. As for getting the best settings, you just have to experiment. Try not to get caught up in what people say are the best or correct settings, find out what sounds good for you and enjoy it. Ignoring what I just said heres another tip I mute all...- j0shimi

I'm still waiting for my HR Balanced Desktop and DAC to be released from Stansted Airport! It took FedEx two days to ship it over from the US but it's spent nearly 5 days waiting for clearance... no doubt they will deliver whiles I'm at work I'm off to go and sulk!- j0shimi

I currently have no DAC just my GL Amp, I prefer to listen in Audio Creation Mode with Bit-Matched playback on, 44.1khz, 2/2.1 speakers and no effects. Audio Creation ensure's you are using the latest ASIO and the most natural sound with your card. What plugin did you use to get native ASIO...- j0shimi
