Your favorite year in music?
I have to go with 1972. Albums like Exile On Main Street, Harvest, and many others made it an incredible year in music. Couple that with the Rolling Stones legendary 72 American Tour, perhaps the greatest rock tour in history, and it was a very good year! Roger -

Blues for Beginers
BB King - Completely Well Released in 1969, I bought this amazing disc about a year ago and it stays in constant rotation in my cd player. It was the album that contained The Thrill Is Gone. Easily one of the greatest blues songs ever written and the whole album is awesome!!! -
Hsu Research
I bought the STF-2 for Christmas last year and have loved it to death for nearly 365 days!!! As with you, the customer support was top notch and the sub sounds amazing! Very musical subs! -

Looking for a 2.1 Setup With Compact Mains...
For a dorm room I would get a pair of av123 elt525m's and be done with it. The cherry finish is on sale for $175....a steal! I bought a pair new last summer for $299. They are an excellent sounding speaker and perfect for a dorm room. Any sub in a dorm room is going to cause you problems... -

About to buy- first set of nice speakers
x3 on AV123 speakers. The sales they have going on are insane! An ELT 525 5.0 set for $599!!! That's 2 towers, 2 monitors and a center for that price. Damn....just the towers are $799! The sale only pertains to the cherry finish. I own a pair of the monitors and they are very sweet... -
How to tell if a room has proper acoustics for speakers?
Since we're talking about a bedroom system here and most bedrooms are very limited as far as furniture placement goes I say get the speakers of your choice and begin listening to the music. Unless, of course, your wife/girlfriend are incredibly turned on by perfect sound. Then follow all above... -
First real speakers
I am in the process of building my own speakers. I highly recommend going to the GR Research website and looking at the kits. All are designed by Danny Ritchie. I'm building the Neo-2X. If you want the best speaker you can get for the money.......build it! Roger- RogerB

Ordered a HSU Research STF-2 Subwoofer
Just wanted to post a quick update: My Hsu STF-2 sub arrived on the 23rd and I spent Christmas afternnon setting it up. It arrived in perfect condition and was fairly easy to hookup considering it is my first sub. My Marantz pm7001 Integrated amp doesn't have a dedicated sub out connection so... -

Well I finally did it! Been wanting a sub for a while now to go with my av123 elt525monitors. Last night I ordered the stf-2 sub from HSU Research. My listening will be about 80% music and 20% movies. Anybody out there use this sub??? Comments???? Is it a good choice for music?? Roger- RogerB
