Review of the Little-Dot MKII Tube Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp

All this talk of amazing improvements makes me want to upgrade my stock tubes.... I've had a LD MKII for a couple of years now. I just love the thing. Lossless AAC's + HD650's + ALO Audio dock + LD MKII = my little slice of sonic heaven. I listen to the system for 3/4 hours every day while I...

TNS Sweet-1 or Sweet-2 ? (looking for Zero DAC and Little Dot MK amps...)

I'll be watching this thread too. I'm also in need of a small, 2-channel amp to drive a pair of bookshelf speakers. I'd love to do it with a tube amp. Found this TNS amp on eBay and was curious what others thought. Seems somewhat too good to be true, looks vs. price. So I'm happy to see...

The Total Airhead from HR good enough for the HD650???

My $.02... When I bought my HD650's, I knew I'd need an amp. I had blown most of my budget (at the time) on the 650's themselves, and so I needed something that would be 'acceptable' but also inexpensive. My first headphone amp was a Total Bithead from HR. Same thing as an Airhead but with...

Review of the Little-Dot MKII Tube Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp

Must... resist...urge...to...upgrade... MKII..... LA LA LA.. I can't hear you.. LA LA LA LA Sorry, I'm brand new to tubed amps and absolutely love (LOVE!!) my MKII as is, but as a 'tinkerer', I am curious about tube rolling. So these tubes would replace the bigger tubes, the power tubes...

Review of the Little-Dot MKII Tube Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp

I do have one little question about the MKII, or perhaps tubes in general. When I flip it off, I shut down my source, then flip off the amp with my headphones still plugged in, then unplug them. But I noticed that a couple of seconds after I shut it down, I get a sort of neat little dinging...

    Is there a Speaker-Fi forum?

I'll second av123.com. Great group of folks over there, though mostly just dedicated to the AV123 family of products. Great products and a great company, however. You will likely find honest opinions about speakers there. AVSForum.com has tons of users and even more opinions. Lots and lots of...

Night Time Shots Of Our Tubes Glowing -- Post Them Here!!

Little Dot MK II. My first tube amp, 1 week old. LOVE IT. Shot with my wife's Sony point-and-shoot on 'Night' mode (no flash). I'm itching to bust out my Nikon D70 DSLR and macro lens and do some insane close-ups of the tubes. So pretty, it's almost naughty.

HD650 SS amp? What will 300$ get me?

All I can say is that I am absolutely overjoyed with my HD650 + Little Dot MK II combo. Music is sounding so good it's moved me to tears. I know there are better amps out there, but I'm simply delighted with this combo.

Review of the Little-Dot MKII Tube Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp

So excited, my MKII has made it to US Customs! To those that ordered from David, about how long did it take to arrive once it made it through customs? Edit: N/M, I see from the review, 'ordered on the 25th, received on the 31st'. Wow, so I could maybe see this thing as early as later this...

Review of the Little-Dot MKII Tube Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp

You people all suck. You have forced me to buy one. I've wanted to try a tube amp for so long, and have been watching reviews of Little Dots for almost as long. The glowing (literally!) reviews here have put me over the edge. Should be a nice upgrade from my PA2V2, right?

    iPod Classic Firmware 1.1 WARNING

80GB Classic, Black. Updated last night to 1.1. Update went as usual, no odd behavior. My $.02. I didn't notice any hissing so I've tried to replicate the hissing/crackling that others are describing, and I haven't had much luck.. I have two sets of headphones to tinker with here at my...

Headphone people: what's your favorite speaker?

I've heard a lot of systems. From a good friend's B&W 801's powered by mid-five-figures worth of line conditioners, sources, amps, and cable that has regularly brought me to tears, to the local 'boutique' audio shop's $100k Dynaudio setup (great, but $100k?), to various Paradigm, Martin Logans...

    The GRADO SR-60 Impressions Thread

Received my 60's today.... Count me in the Grado club! Not like anything you guys didn't already know, but these SR60's are pretty darn impressive. Very clean and crisp. They're sounding great unamped from my 6G iPod. Well worth the $70! Not quie as 'creamy' and 'deep' as my HD650's, but...

Oh My God! Welcome to Grado Facility...

My opinion is that their shop looks about as I expected it to. Did anyone actually expect their 'factory' to be some huge, gleaming steel and glass architectural masterpiece perched atop a green hill? I sure didn't. It's a small, family-run business. Quite frequently this is exactly what they...

    The GRADO SR-60 Impressions Thread

Just ordered a pair of SR-60's myself. Haven't arrived yet, but I'm eager to listen to them. After several years of hard use, my beloved Sennheiser PX100's are dying (short in the plug). Rather than replacing them with another set, I thought I'd give the SR-60's a try as my office set of...

    I just broke my E500s

I've had one experience with Shure's customer service. It was superb. After over a year of heavy use, one of the wires on my wife's E2C's frayed enough that it quit working. One phone call to Shure, got an RMA, sent the phones back, and within a week they shipped back a brand new pair, in a...

    iPod Classic!

MP3 files of (basically) all bit rates are playable and managed by iTunes and your iPod. No conversion is necessary. The vast majority of my collection is kept in 192-320kbs MP3's, simply because I want the ability to access my music on other devices (Tivo, WiFi A/V receiver, etc). Your files...

iPod 80gig classic has more problems then the 160gig?

I've had my 80GB Classic for about a week now. I really like it. Out of the box, with firmware 1.0.0, Cover flow and menus that dealt with graphics were choppy. Other non graphic operations (artists, playlists, etc) were just as snappy as my old 5G & 1G Nano. After the 1.0.1 update...

    iPod Classic!

Admittedly, my MP3 collection is small enough (24GB) that it all fits quite nicely on my new 80GB Classic, so no 'content management' is needed. However, I had a 2GB Nano for well over a year. iTunes certainly can manage libraries that are larger than the player. There is an option in iTunes...

    iPod Classic!

Why in the world do you need to go to all that trouble to get your music & videos on your new iPod? You do realize that iTunes will (ok, should) just recopy & sync all of your music, videos, photos, playlists, etc onto your new iPod. Just plug the new iPod into your PC/Mac with your iTunes...
