You guys might want to try CFA3 on these hard to drive bois. After any future reviews the review goes, then I will think about buying these or other decent planars on the market... Or better yet, wait for MoonZero estats.- IamInnocentX3

Good news, the company that made RR1 announced a new flagship closed back E-stats! https://www.head-case.org/forums/topic/32134-kaldas-inox-flagship-closed-e-stat-%E2%80%93-official-thread-w-technical-analysis/- IamInnocentX3

Really enjoy jamming to my Sunnivas with Trance that has a more bassy and definitive tune compared to my thumpy, airy and 'ethereal'/less bassy Stax SR-507. Also some Hard Tekno. Tones are so much more defined and down-to-earth than the E-stats.- IamInnocentX3

Verum 1 Mk2 might be an option for smoother presentation. They are a pair of planars with remarkable sound, easier to drive too. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/verum-1-mk-2-mini-review.956759/ The Sunniva would also be nice if you want a smooth presentation, only that it is an earbud; stock...- IamInnocentX3

Wait out one or two years then you'll get a fully functional cheap dongle that gives class A 400mW. In the meantime, there's Chord Mojo, Questyle M15, Cayin Ru7, and VE Prime + RA2B-FE stack that are considered portable options.- IamInnocentX3

Hmm, beginning to step into the path of audiophile eh? I have once been like that too, leading me to buy a second-hand Stax set... Then I discovered there were many things that were, not as they seemed. All the best on your journey. Though, I would still recommend that you find a store to demo...- IamInnocentX3

Moondrop : Venus. .... mini review
I saw customer reviews on Taobao mentioned them being easier to drive than the Venus. Also coming along with comments like a FiiO KA13 or a Topping A50s that provides enough current to drive them. The specs of the FiiO seems good enough, adding the juicy low price of $69.00 Although you might...- IamInnocentX3

Considering the power draw, a budget stack like S.M.S.L. C200, or a Schiit Magni + Modi stack will do. I can't guarantee whether a dongle will provide optimal sound quality for a planar magnetic. This depends also upon the capabilities of the headphone, and whether they synergize well with your...- IamInnocentX3

Today is the second last day that I will be spending time with my Venus before leaving home again. Through thick and thin of diagnosing my D300 DAC, I can say endgame is not far away. Firstly, I would say that D300 is a formidable DAC, compared with my SU-1, other than the difference in...- IamInnocentX3

Sounds like a headphone to raise the bar of entry level audio by a very high margin. Also might be a headphone for me if it is tuned for trebleheads. Sadly it doesn't ship outside of US for the moment. I want to hear more impressions on it vs the RAAL.- IamInnocentX3

You wouldn't want to know... A plastic ruler. Edit: So, I do not want to double post but I do want to mention something: Venus pairs really well with the S.M.S.L. D300 DAC, which is said to have an R2R Analogue type of signature. When paired with the D300, the Venus becomes both a detail...- IamInnocentX3

Well, I for one have not put an order for the PARA headphones, and seeing as the FR introduces less bass and upper treble for the PARA, I will likely not place an order for it. Sometimes music needs to be loud enough for the user to enjoy. While my Sunniva earbuds says otherwise, this headphone is one of them. Underpowering it will result in a perceived lack of dynamics, while overpowering will result in sibilance and fatigue. However, the amount of power which it is...- IamInnocentX3

The feeling you described is also what I experienced when switching from the Sunnivas back to the Serratus. The rounder soundstage and more realistic sense of presentation. Though with the Sunnivas, there would be more midbass present, after burn-in, the bass would blend with the overall timbre...- IamInnocentX3

Love that you're quite honest with your preference. It's a matter of preference with two buds. The fast bass decay might be due to the burn-in, because I found them to be quite slow to the Serratus at first listen.- IamInnocentX3

I used SMSL HO100 and a 2W 32ohm desktop amp. My two cents, the Modi and Magni stack (Recent versions) are enough. You can think of their drivability as an earbud version of the HD6XX, but considering they come default with 4.4mm balanced, you could find uber dongles like VE Prime + RA-2BFE Amp...- IamInnocentX3

Sunniva user here, the gear requires sometime to get good. Same thing happened with my Serratus, they require break-in. First listen, midbass bleed. Now it has gotten better, 1-2 steps up from my Serratus. And another matter, the Sunnivas are sensitive. I have to tweak my sample rate and driver...- IamInnocentX3
