i honestly hope they don't mess with the SQ. i love my HEK, and after a recent return and replacement from hifiman, i have no issues with the build quality.

That is what i run, Sophia Electric Royal Princess for the 300b's and an RCA grey glass 6sn7gt for the driver. its the best i have herd, but i am waiting for the studio jr. i might spring for one! HEK + a black widow might be epic as well!

i'm loving the Eddie Current Balancing act and yggdrasil combo. i have a Wa22 as well but it takes a lot of tube rolling for it to sound really nice.

If the WES was for dynamic/planars i would love to try it. But its an electrostatic amp or "energizer" for those flavor of headphones.

I agree, my ECBA is neutral and transparent, but my WA22 is sweet and lush. (i love them both)

i use it with my eddie current BA. and listen to a lot of house and trance music, and speed metal! the yggy is just a beast at all things!

can confirm! was doing some research on my issue and came across his similar one! i wonder if some of the people who use speaker amps can give any insight on how much power you can actually put into the HEK? 

I still love and use my WA22 even though i moved on to the Eddie Current BA. WA22 is a killer amp!

i currently use the HEK. the HD800's are great if you EQ them properly.

it can be. but then again i am personally always wondering what all the fuss is about them SS amps are. I do find that Tube amps with the HEK are often over looked but goodness they are something special, just extremely hard to pair from the few i have owned.

i would love too, but dropping more money on tubes then the amp is just crazy in my book, i would like to try some tak 300b's my self to see what i can get the HE1000's to do.

well, it is a huge part of it! its very hard for me to say. the DAC was huge the HP was huge and the amps + tubes have also been huge! i will say the HP can only be as good as the source! 

  that is a hard question to answer, logically i'm going to say the HEK.

well the HEK for me is perfect everyones ears are different though. i also really like the HD800's! i think the HEK's are just sonically superior in almost every way except sound staging and treble. YMMV i just really love my HEK's but if i did not have the money i would still have my HD800's...
