TRINITY - DELTA HYBRID V II

If anyone want some Bluetooth receivers for their Delta II IEMs I just got a receiver in the mail today which seems to be quite decent if a bit bass heavy (but I fixed that on my part by using purple filters instead of gold). I was foolish enough not to buy the Delta receiver when it was up for...

Looking for decent <300$ BT IEMs

I still have a while to decide, but so far the Sony's are good as far as sound goes. They do however have an annoying quirk with them as far as shape and fit goes, the housing of the IEMs are shaped so that they put pressure on the upper part of the opening of the ear canal. So I might look at...

Looking for decent <300$ BT IEMs

{I have been rocking my Trinity Delta V for a couple of years now and while they are still terrific IEMs my new phone unfortunately doesn't have a jack. So far I have been running my HRT microstreamer for sound, but the options for decent USB-c to MiniUSB cables is lackluster to say the least...

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread

I see, I didn't know that you were getting it used. Still, you should look around for it as well since you are already looking for another audio card. The plus side is that a used dedicated DAC would be far less likely to have been damaged by stuff like static electricity and so on, the second...

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread

I have to agree with Jonathan on this. The STX series is likely as good of a card as should get for placing inside your computer. Still, even at this price point I really have to ask why you are not going for a dedicated DAC? The STX is really good, but there are also really good DACs in the...

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!

You could always get the Brainwavz HM5 leather pads. I had to swap out my pads due to simple wear, I got the pleather angled pads and they provide a much better seal than the stock pads in my opinion. You could also get the regular flat ones, but supposedly they alter the sound somewhat. They...

Want a new DAC in the 100-200USD range

I see... I would prefer to not have to carry a separate PSU with me for the unit, but I guess that's what you get for wanting more stuff... How about the Audioengine D1, is that any good? it offers TOSLINK in, but no coaxial. Other than that I may remove my wish for other inputs, since having to...

Want a new DAC in the 100-200USD range

For the last 8 months or so I have been blessed with my HRT Microstreamer which really did perform quite well. Unfortunately I seem to have lost it, or left it behind somewhere. At any rate I will need something to replace it as my Laptop sound source, my X-Fi go! is decent enough as a temporary...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

Same answer more or less, if you are satisfied with the sound from the device (phone, or DAP) you don't need a DAC. It's also not certain that you would need an amp at all as some devices deliver more than enough power. The simple answer would be to get whatever device you want to play from...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

That depends entirely on if you actually like the current sound from your phone or not. Other than that, the CMoy Amps are quite good portable amps. I would also suggest the HiFiMe DACs if you are in the market for that at a later point in time. There should be a lot of other options out there...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

I'm not sure I love black Friday or hate it... I have been so close on pulling the trigger on several IEMs the past 12 hours, just to stop myself in the "checkout" reminding myself that I have all I need for quite a while. Anyway, I do want to try the new Xiaomi hybrids (3 drivers). They are...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

I'll check them out during the weekend, although there are a couple of other IEMs that I really want that I suspect might come on sale in local electronic stores. So I'll have to see if my budget allows for it ;)

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

Norwegian stores as in I'm from Norway and usually buy stuff from there rather than lets say Amazon and Newegg and the likes (don't have those here). Shipping fees and all that just don't make it worth it for anyone to buy anything from here unless you actually live here (there is a tiny bit of...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

I'll see what I can do, I'm keeping my eyes open for a telly after midnight so I'll have to prioritize :p Oh, and any stuff would be from a china based store or other international ones as I suspect Norwegian stores are not all that interesting to you ;)

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

Most of the IEMs I have bought more recently have had relatively good noise isolation. It all depends on how well the tip works for you though, rather than the shape and form of the IEM. At least that's my experience with it. The Tennmak Pro does well in this regard, but you might get even...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

I might be at risk of repeating myself to many times here, but the tennmak pro is about the most durable headphone I have (not counting my stutio over ears which are built like a tank). they also have a replacable cable that increases their lifespand significantly in my opinion.

Tennmak Pro is a good choice in my opinion, but there are other alternatives that does well for that genre as well.

    THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD

I was thinking the same, the bit that I was more concerned about when making something like this would be the grooves that the IEMs are fitted in, but this seems to be working rather well. I'll probably make something like it that can be hanged on a wall, and now that you mentioned it I will use...

    Best Smartphone for audiophile

Just search for "charge usb otg" on ebay, aliexpress, gearbest or amazon. I can't guarantee they will work though as I can't seem to find the link to the one I use anymoore, but something like this should do the trick. Or just look for somehing similar on one of the mentioned sites, what you...

    THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD

I found this one on gearbest if youre still looking. It's not the nicest looking thing in the world, but I think I'm going to copy the concept for my own design at least.

    Best Smartphone for audiophile

except there is nothing actually stopping you from doing both, USB constantly gives power no matter what. It's what makes it possible to charge your phone while you transfer files to your computer. It's also what powers stuff like mice, keyboards, portable hard-drives and so on. While I don't...

    Introducing Trinity Audio Engineering

I see, the thing is that I already have the Delta V-II so I would have preferred getting the lanyard for those. That said I will look at them as I’m always wanting new headphones, and I have been looking at making a simple cable adapter so that I can use MMCX on the Deltas (the parts shipped...

Great, thanks for the suggestions. Those are definitely going in to my favourite list on aliexpress. As for the other store that shall not be named (It's starting to feel a bit like Harry Potter, mentioning stuff without mentioning them :P )... anyway it's not been a problem for me using it, I...

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!

While I'm looking at wireless headphones as well, I really don't see them replacing my wired ones. Or at least not my full sized cans, they are simply to big for me to use them comfortably while on the move and that's honestly the only time I like using bluetooth. Now as for sound quality... I...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

so... since I'm a bit unsure about what stores are actually "safe" to buy from other than the linked ones. There is always the store that is not to be mentioned, but I would rather order from other sources if possible. Anyone have a key set of go to stores on aliexpress that they would like to...
