Can the 400i original's two can connections be nodded into what the new version's have?

I have a old version of the 400i and i noticed with my he400i that when i screw on the left connector while holding the gold support, the black plastic underneath the gold peace started to twist easey. does this mean that i can sever the wires if i twist it by accident? can this be fixed? Will...

I use then for traveling mostly and sometimes it gets loud at my place so i would like to use then if i can?

The 400i have a frequency response of 20hz-35khz.  If you got an amp/dac/pre-amp(NFB 15.32) with a frequency of 20hz-20khz would that mean anything else besides the head phones only reaching 20hz-20khz ?

In the manual it says to leave it operating constantly for 150 hours to ensure optimal performance, so that's 6 days and 6 hours.  Does it have to be like this, can't it be done in blocks leading up to 150 hours to get the same results?

Damn, I Really don't like the idea of using an EQ I was hoping the filters could solve all my problems. I don't think I burned in the NFB-15 yet would that have something to do with it?

Anyone here found a great filter setting for there 400i's? Need help here because I find mine are a little to Bright and my ears hurt after lisening to it for a long time. Also how do you know what your volume levels in numbers?

I like your post I found It amusing and embarrassing  just looking back on the stress I was having, over one detail and the way I went about trying to get the answers... my common sence just came back from it's holiday .

Okay okay I won't in any way use my headphones as speakers, you's nailed that to my head, im just so happy that I won't accidently break them .
