    Round 2: Setup for a Returning Head-Fi'er?

Hello everyone, My Head-Fi journey began Christmas of 2006, when I received a pair of Sennheiser HD595's. While the sound was great, suffice to say these cans were not for me. My everyday listening environment was chock full of ambient noise, so the HD595's sound was compromised and...

2.1 Speaker Setup for PC ~$400

Greetings Head-Fi'ers, Right now I have a set of Logitech Z-5300e 5.1 speakers hooked up to my PC (shameful, I know.) I'm looking to significantly upgrade the audio quality of my desktop setup, these wimpy little speakers just don't cut it any more. Everything is muddled, the sub is just one...

    IEMs ~$100 for rock?

Just as the title states, I'm looking for a pair of IEMs around $100 or less for listening to mostly classic rock, such as The Who, Ted Nugent, Thin Lizzy, Steppenwolf, The Rolling Stones, etc. I'm not looking for anything too analytical, when I listen to music, I listen to it as music, not as a...

    Go-Vibe Appreciation Thread

That's really dissapointing. I had planned on ordering one in the future as my first amp purchase. Looks like I'll have to find another budget amp with the same amount of appeal as the Go-Vibe.

    ? about my new HD555

First things first, burn these cans in for at least 50 hours (preferrably 100-200) for them to reach their full potential. The HD 595's really sounded like a whole different headphone after significant burn-in.

What to pair with my ATH-a500, 2 zs or X-Fi

Around here the Audigy 2 ZS is considered a subpar source, while the X-Fi is at least considered decent by some. If quality sound is important, go for the X-Fi.

    Portables and lower-impedance headphones.

What issues are speaking of? The only "issue" I'm aware of is a slight hiss when using extremely sensitive headphones (almost always IEMs) and this can easily be fixed with the use of a volume attenuator.
