Schiit Asgard: Unboxing and First Impressions

I've has my Asgard for a while now and it always has this typical "I'm using my computer as a source" noise. I thought it might be cause my source is on-board computer audio. A week ago or so I got my new DAC in the mail (Musiland Monitor 02 US) and got it all working. However there's still a...

    Musiland Monitor 02 US

Hey thanks that information helps a lot.   I also have another issue. My speakers have the Logitech Z-5500 (5.1). All the speakers hook up to the subwoofer and that hooks up to this little control device that adjusts volume and some other settings. This control device has a SPDIF port and I...

    Musiland Monitor 02 US

Hey so I just got my DAC and installed the latest drivers that a previous post had a link to.   I got a couple of questions that are probably pretty noobie.   1. How do I switch from WAVE to AISO and is it more desirable to have it in AISO? Does it have anything to do with the program...

Aw man I missed out on the Coppers again?    I got the Klipsch X10 this Black Friday and every ear tip causes a lot of fatigue or pain so I'm looking for a new pair...can anyone give me a quick comparison between the 2 IEMs? Because amongst all my headphones/IEMs the Klipsch are...

    Musiland Monitor 02 US

I got a quick question. On the back of the Musiland Monitor 02 US there's USB, power and 2 digital outs. 1 is coaxial and the other is toslink if I'm correct. Is the black square toslink connector just regular toslink or mini toslink? Is it some plastic thing you pull off to expose the plug or...

    Musiland Monitor 02 US

Hey I'm thinking of picking one of these up but just looking through the previous posts in this thread it looks like it's a lot of trouble to get this thing working.   Maybe it's a newer version that's come out but it looked like you had to change drivers and firmware and then wait for some...

The IEM/Portable Headphones Deal Alerts Thread - Closed! Use the Deals Thread III instead.

Someone earlier posted a link with the Monster Turbine Pro Copper for $128. I already picked up the X10s earlier but the deal for the Copper seems really good. Are these worth picking up?   Just as a side note it doesn't seem like there are any deals on any affordable DACs during Black...

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

I know this is a "headphone" guidance thread but just going off of the fact that someone giving advice off of headphones themselves probably has the answer to my question I'll just ask it here.       I have a couple of cheap headphones (MS1, HD555, planning on getting LCD-2s and IEMs are...

Why you shouldn't do Grado mods in a hurry

Took a heat gun and melted the mesh...   ):   Replacing with copper mesh though! It's not even that bad but still pisses me off when I look at it. I always underestimate a heat gun should have used a hair dryer or something.   Lesson learned.

FiiO E6 - story of the tiny amp continues... (w/ review on 1st page)

It feels really light but it seems very durable. I think there was a post saying that the plastic was polycarbonate plastic which is significantly higher quality when compared to cheaper plastics such as ABS plastics FiiO could have opted to use.   I was a bit skeptical about it but since it...

    SR60-Mod part II

Those Grado headbands look like a really good buy...just wondering, is it hard to replace the stock one?   I see each side has a little cut near the end to let it the metal part of the headband to pass through. Is it difficult to take apart the plastic pieces with the L and the R on them?

    SR60-Mod part II

Hey @ people who commented on my mesh issue, thanks a lot!   I looked at window screen myself and it looked really flimsy and you have to buy a huge roll. The look of using a kitchen strainer mesh looks good and they should be cheap/easy to get. I'll look in to getting a Dremel or similar...

    SR60-Mod part II

So I tried taking apart my MS1s with a heat gun and that was a really really bad idea. It melted the mesh on one of the cups a bit...):   It doesn't effect sound and only appearance a little, but it's still annoys me. Eventually I took the cups apart with a spoon and poked the holes I wanted...

    SR60-Mod part II

Just some quick questions...   I bought some MS1s and I was wondering if they had the same or similar 10 ventilation holes the SR-60 have. I really think the weakest thing about these headphones is the lack of bass. I mean I don't want a crazy pounding, but I want something a bit more then...

The Audio Technica M50 studio monitor thread

Hey I'm looking to pick up a pair of closed cans; I already have 2 open ones.   The M50s seem to get pretty good reviews all around and are usually recommended for headphones around it's price range. But I was wondering how do they compare with the ATH-A700? I personally like the look of the...

    Grado Fan Club!

So I just got my brand new MS1s in the mail today. They're my first audiophile headphones and they sound awesome. I've definately become a Grado fan. I couldn't stop listening to music for hours non-stop!    Only have 1 complaint. Although the sound quality is awesome the MS1s clamp to my...

"You have sent your daily allotment of 2 messages"

This "2 PM" thing a day is pretty frustrating and incredibly limiting but I do understand where it's coming from. Not here to complain about it though.   Trying to make contact with a seller after purchasing something in the "For Sale/Trade Forum" and it's giving me the usual can't send any...

Quote: Wow that's a really really helpful thread you put together dude props.   I'm settling on the MS1s.   I think it's easier to choose a pair of headsets based on how people describe how they sound compared to choosing an amp for the first time.   Just another quick...

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Hi first post!   So I've been reading what I might think is a lot of information off of these forums but it probably really isn't.   I want to buy a entry level set up headphone/amp and ideally I'd like to spend $250ish but if there's something really convincingly better for a reasonable...
