Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread
That. Paciencia amigo. These cans are the best, believe me. Just give them some more time, they should not sound muffled at all, to the contrary I find them bright but not overly so. I've not tried the regular HD25's but I've read that they are more agressive in the upper mid region, I'm...- Elektrospeed

Sennheiser Amperiors?
Quote: Amperiors definitely have the upper hand in mid-bass quantity. I'd say the amperiors have more body, but the v-modas have more depth.- Elektrospeed

Sennheiser Amperiors?
I find Amperiors very good for EDM, and dance music in general. Hip-Hop / R&B not so much. Bass is strong but mid-bass focused. I find the v-modas better for sub-bass oriented music.- Elektrospeed

Sennheiser Amperiors?
Yeah, just get the amperiors, you don't even need an amp for them. These things are really awesome all across the frequency range and don't get strident UNLESS you turn up the volume way too much. For reference, I listen to them just a little above "half the volume" in my iPhone 5.- Elektrospeed

Workout / Gym / Running
I've tried the following: Klipsch X10 Klipsch S4 Sony XBA II Sennheiser CX300ii The absolute winner is CX300ii. For 2 reasons: 1) Secure. All the others fall out of my ears with medium intensity workouts. The CX300ii's do not. They stay secure unless you tug at the cable...- Elektrospeed

Are bass-heavier headphones better for outside use?
If you see any of the isolation vs. frequency charts, you'll notice isolation usually increases the higher the frequency. This is because lower frequencies are more difficult to attenuate, either passively or actively. I think wavelenght has something to do with it, you'd have to use a really...- Elektrospeed

Sennheiser Amperiors?
Absolutely no need to amp them IMO. I'd just rather plug them directily to the iPhone than going through the hassle of carrying the E17, which implies more bulk and losing the line mic & controls. SQ improvement, if any, was negligible with iPhone/iTouch 4g. Haven't tried E17 with iPhone 5...- Elektrospeed

Audio Technica ATH-M50 - What's all the fuss about?
I have the M50s "white box" and, to my ears, bass is not at all overempowered, nor are the mids quite so recessed (a little bit, not as much as I've read here). They're actually pretty great headphones, and I think most flaming comes from people who has not actually heard them, just like they...- Elektrospeed

Best On-Ear (Over-Ear) Headphones for $300
Don't you think the AT ES9 might be too bass-light for a newbie? I mean, yeah, there's a world beyond the bass... but I think everyone has gone through the "bass stage", and if your first decent headphones lack in that departament, you might be in for a bummer...- Elektrospeed

Is Sennheiser Amperior comftable for long sessions?
I've had no confort issues with Amperiors. Actually I've slept with them about two times, no problem :D But if you live in a quiet place, and isolation is not required, then perhaps it would be worth trading them for HD600.- Elektrospeed

Sennheiser Amperiors?
Quote: They sounded just fine out of the box, but at first I thought the bass was somewhat loose and boomy, and that it creeped up the mids a little bit. They have improved over time, now I feel the bass is very tight and does not interfere with the mids. I know how you feel, I'm from...- Elektrospeed

Klipsch Image X10 for $94 (usually $350)!!
Quote: No sibilance for me. Midrange is great IMO, highs are somewhat lacking but I never found that to be a problem, it's there it's just simply not their strong point. Durability indeed is an issue, I had to repair the left strain relief with some thin thread + super glue, but this...- Elektrospeed

Klipsch Image X10 for $94 (usually $350)!!
Getting a propper seal on the X10's is fundamental, as with most IEMs. I've found the better tips for me are the medium standard ones, double flanged are more secure but tend to cause sibilance.- Elektrospeed

Sennheiser Amperiors?
Quote: Amperiors are awesome for EDM. If they have a strong point, that is it. Tight, strong mid-bass, and sparkling highs. I had the oportunity to audition the Momentums for a little while. They would do well, but not as good as the Amperiors. Treble is too laid back, and might...- Elektrospeed

Noob question about BAs vs Dynamics
Uhhhh... From experience, a 15" woofer sounds much louder than a 10" woofer lol I think it's not about SPL capabilities, it's about the tuning. For example, I can make a 10" woofer hit lower frequencies than a 15" depending on the enclosure. It might not get as loud, but it...- Elektrospeed

Sennheiser Amperiors?
I must also agree at least a bag should be included, it would be a nice added value. So far I haven't had a problem with the lack of bag / case, but if I ever need a bag to carry them, I'll just use the M50's bag.- Elektrospeed
