New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)
Hi everyone Just got alerted to this program by my friend. I too would like to register for a turn to review the unit in Hanoi. My equipment at the moment include: AKG Q701, Grado RS2e and H6. My amp/DAC is just the very basic LH Labs v6, so I'm really looking forwards to trying the PLAY before...- proid

A very simple single-ended parafeed design
Thanks Sodacose, That explains a lot. And some other things i don't understand: 1. The Edcor WSM is 0.5W, does that mean it can only transfer 0.5W of power e.g given secondary tap drving 32ohm load then the transformer can only pass as much as sqrt(0.5/32) = 125ma, is that right? 2. What do...- proid

A very simple single-ended parafeed design
Hi Sodacose, That's really nice design and your blog is very helpful for me as well as others who are starting to learn about tube. I have read throughly your Papa Russia headphone amplifier design and i'm confused at this: Assume that you use the 75 ohm secondary tap for 32ohm headphone...- proid

The Opamp thread
The 8820 soundstage is wider but the 8920 ss is deeper, the 8820 sounds a bit more clear and balance, 8920 sounds darker, and smoother, more analog like. I prefer the 8920 to the 8820. Btw, i'm from Vn to :)))- proid

FiiO K1--smaller and better for less
So you mean if two amp have the same frequency respond, they will sound the same? According to measurement of Tyll http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/AllAmpGraphs.pdf every amp have identical frequency respond, except some have minor roll off at 20hz cause by the input capacitor, which is...- proid

Flat frequency respond doens't mean neutral sound, most of the portable amp will measure as flat but each one has it own sound signature.- proid

I mainly listen to the 681 EVO because the red 681 was broken, i clearly prefer the red 681 to the 681 EVO (both modded) the EVO sound more refined, has more 3d soundstage, a little bit more detail but it sound more close in, the red 681 sound more open, has smoother mid, better bass slam, it...- proid

I'm a big fan of superlux headphones, I love the red 681 the most then the 681 EVO. I always want to find a headphone with similar sound signature to the 681 then i buy the DT990 pre 600 ohm and He-400 and now both are collecting dust, i only use the 681 EVO to listen to music everyday...- proid
