Grado IGI review
There isn't much info about the IGI on head-fi - so I figured I'd make a post. At work I needed closed headphones which led me to M50's - they isolate fairly well, and sound good - but the "Grado" sound I have grown to love wasn't there. The M50's bore me with their laid back mids, and...- nocooler

sound just like Grado SR60 but more easy on the ears?
A couple months and they really start getting soft.....I can't tell I have me 60's on with comfies. Washing them in warm water with a mild soap and air drying might loosen them up a bit.- nocooler

Review: ZERO 24 BIT/192KHz DAC/Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp
I'm considering the zero for my 1st full sized amp. I currently use my total bithead which is good - but I think I'd like more inputs. I typically listen to my grado sr60's or 225i's - and my audio technica m50's. For tunes I listen to rock, alternative, metal, but lately I've been on the...- nocooler

Going Audiophile For Gaming!
Quote: I know exactly what you are talking about. Have you tried the steelhead's without the usb sound card? Mine had that crap too - virtual 5.1, the best thing I did was stop using it. It's probably worth looking it what your friends listen to - and sample them. Sennheiser HD555's...- nocooler

Going Audiophile For Gaming!
For competitive play I've always went to my Icemat Siberia's (Steelhead) or my Grado SR60's (yes I'm serious). Both work very well for me. I tend to prefer the Grado's as they are less bassy, with the mid's being very forward. It helps with footsteps, and locating gunshots. IMO avoid bass heavy...- nocooler

The Audio Technica M50 studio monitor thread
Quote: I'll give it a go...... M50's - accurate, precise, laid back, mids seem to be recessed. Needs the volume to be turned up a bit to become enjoyable, low listening volumes seem very lacking. 225i's - airy, fast/punchy, forward and in your face. Brings life to the music -...- nocooler

The Audio Technica M50 studio monitor thread
After a few weeks I find myself in a love/hate relationship with my M50's. I love them unless I listen to my SR225i's 1st, if I listen to them back to back - I always prefer the "Grado" sound. While I do love the isolation of the M50's and they really shine in a noisy environment - my ears get...- nocooler

The Audio Technica M50 studio monitor thread
Just got mine - and I have to say I'm impressed. Easy to drive and sound really even better with either my total bithead or fiio e5. My 1st sealed can - they do isolate nice. More bass than my Grados - the mids/highs aren't as forward, but they have a nice balance to them.- nocooler

New Gear on the way - Grado sr225i
1 hour impression - much cleaner/clearer than the sr60's. Punchy tight bass, excellent mids and highs. Perfect for what I listen too, anyone that enjoys heavy bass should look elsewhere. They seem significantly more open than the 60's - so listening in quiet environments is a must. They...- nocooler

New Gear on the way - Grado sr225i
As a longtime grado user, I decided to upgrade my sr60's. The 60's sound fantastic and probably have 750+ hours on them. I decided that since I couldn't stand the cheap crap I had at work, so I'll move the 60's to work and upgrade. The The logical choice was grado - I love they way they sound...- nocooler
