    ASHES dIVIDE anybody? :)

I think the rest of the album is even better personally. I can't quit listening to this, since almost 2 days (the day I got it, which was a couple of hours after release). Pretty addictive for my tastes. Also, it is very well recorded.

    Ultimate Ears UE-5C

You're in the UK. I'd really suggest getting a pair of ACS T2. The sound quality, comfort, fit, etc. are unrivaled. Check them out if you want a pro IEM.

IEM with the sound of HD600s?

The best IEMs possible right now are ACS's T2 models if you would like to go the custom route. They will even top HD600. You are right machead, but do not forget that IEMs are a fairly new technology compared to full-sized headphones. Improvements in this field happen nowadays almost on a...

ACS T2PRO IEMs quick review and pics! (56k warning)

Nice write-up IZCool. I'm very pleased you like the monitors as much as I do. Yes, the new cable design is very nice indeed and it will save you the problem of oxidizing. There are also new improvements on the way now... Andy is a big help as always and you can have it guaranteed that the...

    Which portable source sounds best

If you can find one, try iRiver's iHP 1xx series. It does have an optical out and IMO sounds by far the best compared to any DAP I've heard before (once it runs Rockbox and lossless files). You can also wait for catscratch'es review of the new Kenwood player, although there is no digital out there.

    Demise of iRiver?

iRiver will be probably quitting European market. No wonder if their latest products couldn't live up to the great, old DAP's. Lemming-like following iPod and their recent weirdo politics can't do any good apparently. I wouldn't buy any new players from them anyway... Sad but true...

In such a case custom IEM's should rather be out of the question. Your ear canal will definitely change and you might try those E500 (but I'd rather wait for some constructive reviews of them if I were you). And to answer your question, UE-10 Pro's are not the best custom IEM's currently...

Help, iRiver iHP-120 Locked up, won't shut off.

It is also a good idea to switch the optical out on. The noise floor is higher, because 1xx series (and I think 3xx) utilize very powerful and efficient amplifiers. When using the Reset button employ some blunt paper clip or something, so as not to break the tiny button. There were cases...

Help, iRiver iHP-120 Locked up, won't shut off.

I don't exactly know what the problem may be, but I've read somewhere that FLAC's should be tagged only once. When it's both ID3v1 and ID3v2, then apparently Rockbox tries to read both simultaneously and locks up. Reset should do it here. Maybe you should change the tags in your FLAC files then...

Microsoft might go against (God), I mean the Ipod

Yes, great... It's getting worse even more. I guess that M$' first attempt in production of audio players was when they collaborated with iRiver and introduced some new, crappy-as-hell, shiny toys (I don't think they deserve being called players when compared to their old models). That was the...
