Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
I think the difference is small. To me the v2 cable is great because it is so much lighter. That alone is worth it IMO.- ascl

Alternatives to Bose for traveling and sound isolation?
I also spend a lot of time in airplanes... and I eventually gave up.... and got the damn Bose. They are comfortable and have great NC that provide better sound proofing than anything else I have found. I can actually sleep with the bose in-ears, they are that comfortable. Their sound quality...- ascl

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
I went from the Zen's to the iSine (20s). The Zen's are pretty darn good for cheap looking ear buds.- ascl

ANC headphones worth it?
Buy some Bose, particularly the in ears. I know they suck from an audio perspective, but they are very comfortable and block a lot of noise. I have tried custom in-ears (JH Audio), normal IEM's with high isolation (etymotic h5's), and none work as well for a comfortable flight experience. This...- ascl

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
So... I have a question for you guys. I have the iSine 20's, great cans for when I'm walking around. I like the open design so I can hear when I am walking.. but when I'm on the train, I like isolation, and my "isolation" IEMs are etymotic HF5's, but they sound terrible in comparison. Can anyone...- ascl

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
I picked up some iSine 20's yesterday, finally had some stock available. So far I am using the medium (ribbed) tip and the large earhooks. Comfort seems fine, the earlocks I cannot get to work at all, which is a little disappointing, as the ear hooks are a little finnicky. But I am sure I'll get...- ascl

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
I also thought the jump from 10 to 20 was large. The extra clarity and detail on the 20s was impressive. That said, I have only tried them in store so far (out of stock!).- ascl

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
So I never knew how the volume limiter works, but I just tried it and it is perfect. The volume limiter changes what 100% means without limiting the range. ie if you set it to 50%, you still control the volume through the same number of 'clicks' from silent to loudest, its just that each click...- ascl

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
It is a good suggestion and I will try that, but I don't understand how Audeze released it like this...! It is a custom DAC/Amp for these headphones, it isn't just super sensitive headphones with a powerful amp. It certainly isn't a deal breaker by any stretch, but it is odd.- ascl

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
I finally got to spend some time with both the iSine 10's and 20s. I wasn't super impressed with the iSine 10's (through either the cipher or 3.5mm cable), but the 20's were very impressive. A couple of negatives tho: - the cipher cable is super heavy, and the control thing is very close to...- ascl

I listen to mostly metal and a bit of EDM... and I think the 560s work fantastically well with it (FWIW I run mine off a Violetric V100).- ascl

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
The discussion around isolation provided by these really shows that there is no perfect headphone for everyone. For me personally, the reports about it being a fairly open IEM is the very thing that puts it on my radar. I walk a lot, and much prefer to be able to here some of the surrounding...- ascl

Astell&Kern XB10 Extreme Bluetooth Adapter
The marketing paper suggests it does support AAC: http://www2.elecom.co.jp/avd/cellphone/headphone/lbt-php500av/ The difference was not night and day, but it was noticeable. EDIT: The build quality is very different. The Elecom feels cheap and plastic-y, the XB10 looks and feels higher...- ascl

Astell&Kern XB10 Extreme Bluetooth Adapter
I received mine (via ebay) a couple of days ago, but haven't had much chance to listen yet. A quick test (using an iPhone 7 and AAC source material) was quite good, it is a little bass heavy, and there is maybe some clarity loss, but it is pretty small. It definitely sounds better than the...- ascl

I love my Violectric with the he560. Yes okay, I only have the v100, but it has plenty of juice IMO, can only imagine the v200 would sound better. If they are so close, go see if you can have a demo?- ascl

I use my Zen 2.0 with my iPhone 6 (no amp), and, IMHO, it is fine. Have to crank it a bit more than earbuds obviously, but I usually sit at about 60% volume and it is comfortable for me. Whether it is overkill or not is up to you. It isn't for me :)- ascl

I have a Violectric V100, which I will have to try with them, but I got these for portable use, so my normal use case will be with a phone. They don't seem too constrained with out an amp so far, but I'll definitely do the comparison :)- ascl

My Zen 2.0s just arrived! Pretty quick shipping, and arrived safely thanks to the good packaging. I have to admit I am a bit surprised... the monks sound pretty much ridiculously good for cheap extra's! The zen's definitely sound better, driven quite nicely from my iphone. Need more...- ascl

If this is the case (and I agree it is), its means the cable is unbalanced. That said, balanced cables for headphones seems overkill, as the cable lengths are generally quite short. EDIT: Actually, are you saying 2 conductors, as in 2 connections with audio + the ground... and so 3...- ascl
