Waiting for the balanced version to be available, then likely trade in my 1.0 as well, only so many head/ears/hours available :)

I was gonna get the balanced, but I couldn't handle the wait! Besides, then I would have had to get a source that could do balanced output... like the poni... yuck!

My Zen 2.0s just arrived! Pretty quick shipping, and arrived safely thanks to the good packaging.

I have to admit I am a bit surprised... the monks sound pretty much ridiculously good for cheap extra's! The zen's definitely sound better, driven quite nicely from my iphone.

Need more time, but so far, so good! :)

Just received my Zen 2.0 this afternoon. I will concur with previous posters that those sound best naked. I initially tried them with donuts and full cushions and was quite disappointed, overtly warm with loose bass.
Listening now naked I will agree that those are technically superior to the first version, more detailed and more open sounding.
But the original Zen with full cover still has that something special, slightly warmer with slightly lusher mids.
Longer listening time is necessary for me to decide which one I will ultimately keep.

I was wondering about the size of zen's case. thanks for this photo=)
It blowed up my mind seeing that blue =O. i hope mine will also be blue, i bougth from mistertao.   nice dac btw, those 3 balls xD

I have a Violectric V100, which I will have to try with them, but I got these for portable use, so my normal use case will be with a phone. They don't seem too constrained with out an amp so far, but I'll definitely do the comparison :)

the Zen 2.0 are better portable wise as compared to the Zen 1.0 but they still need a good source and amplification to get the best out of them

You and your typos!  Lol.  So the Zen 2.0 are better as portables than the Zen 2.0, huh? :p

Haha sorry, being a smartass now.

I don't doubt it, and will try it, but I am not keen on carrying something extra. These phones are specifically for walking around with, for more stationary purposes I have other headphones.

I'm still a bit shocked about these monks...
