For that price (roughly 313.84$ USD) you have options. I would look to buy something (gently) used by a trusted head-fier. The Pico, TTVJ Slim, ibasso and many, many others can be found for your budget used, or if you want to buy new, there are options Im sure that fall in your range as well...

Is it not science to some and art to others?   To me, its art, because I can appreciate and differentiate sound, but cannot break down the hard science behind how it became that way.   Not to mention, success is easier to measure in science, but impossible to measure in art.

WiR3D, have you looked into the DNA Sonett. I belive it meets all your criteria (like the WA6SE, a rare tube excpetion) but I am unsure if it deliveres the proper current that you feel is needed for the D7000. Thoughts? Im still researching it myself. It may be a another rare tube exception...

I've got my eye on the Meier Corda Classic. It seems to fly under the radar here, but I'm really interested in the features, I like the look and the price is at a pretty great point.
