I don't have the speedball but I just bought a Sino 6as7g and it is completely silent.  I use it for upwards of 6 hours straight sometimes and have never heard any noise due to the tube.  Only $15

I assume the firmware is the same found by Claude, post is not dated on the website though.  According to the computer the firmware version is 6.61.

Just found this firmware update and it may have removed a little bit of edgeiness from the treble.  The biggest change for me running off a mac is that it can now actually run in 16bit.  Previously it resampled everything to 24.

huh mine definitely keeps the previous tracks loaded.  On a separate note my computer was really showing its age.  I have that album too and it takes it much longer to load into the ram.

I was too until i realized the numbers under the memory allocation bar indicate the length of content that can be loaded in either 16/44.1 or 24/192.  For example, I have mine set to 2Gb and it will load 50min of 16/44 and 11min of 24/192

Has anyone tried using the Wyrd to power a usb to spdif convertor?  I assume it would work but the driver issues with a few dacs makes me nervous.  I have the M2Tech Hiface 2 if anyone has that or something similar and wants to give it a go.

I have Fidelia and Audirvana.  IMHO Audirvana is the better player.  I have far fewer issues with Audirvana and the sound is better too, I believe due to Integer/Direct Mode.  I don't have the headphone effect for Fidelia so that may be a selling point for you.  I would definitely recommend...
